Sure as rain, these people are arriving as "refugees" and being disbursed around the US by our elected officials. Probably some type of Social Engineering.

No lesson required, it's just a comparison regarding rounding up groups of people. It's definitely concerning to see it happening. What do you think is going to happen to those 300 people? Give them tea and crumpets? Back massages and spa treatments? C'mon man, you know what I meant.

I understand what you're saying, I think you're over analyzing it though. I'm just talking about making hundreds of people disappear at once is all. Simple. It's the same to me whether it's government sanctioned or not. The end result or goal is the same, genocide....

I think DP makes a good point Stank...It's perception and relativity. Genocide none the less.

Agreed. It could definitely be a lot worse. I think that their (ISIS) plan is to do it slowly over time. 300 here, 100 there, 60 here, 50 there. By doing it that way there is less of a world reaction. Nazi's got greedy and went for larger numbers in a shorter period of time, which caused the world to notice and act. Still amazing how far along they made it before it was stopped though. But if the world doesn't wake up, these pricks will accomplish the same goal, even if done in smaller doses over a longer period of time.

If I was interested in winning Jeopardy I would certainly do that Stank, but i'm not, that's my Mom's favorite show, not mine lol. I know enough about history to see what is going on right now. Yes, i'm comparing apples to oranges, but try not to get caught up in the details. I'm simply making a point regarding attempted genocide is all.

World didn't really notice or act though. I'm sure the OSS, etc. where aware but the concentration camps weren't common knowledge until our troops got there and found that $hit. They were understandably shocked and disgusted by what they saw.

I mean, the world knew they were going after jews (and a lot of others they declared "sub human") but no one realized the extent.

Although with the advent of the internets, mobile phones, etc...it gets harder to keep that insanity hidden.

True, I guess I should have said until the US (not the world) acted. Seems other countries sit back and wait to see what our country is going to do about it first before jumping on board. If the US never got involved, what would the world look like today?

The Rwandan genocide was a genocidal mass slaughter of Tutsi and moderate Hutu in Rwanda by members of the Hutu majority government. During the approximate 100-day period from April 7 to mid-July 1994, an estimated 501,000–1,000,000 Rwandans were killed,[1] constituting as much as 70% of the Tutsi and 20% of Rwanda's total population. The genocide was planned by members of the core political elite known as the akazu, many of whom occupied positions at top levels of the national government.

We didn't care because they were African.

We are a "not in my backyard" country.

I still love it here and will shoot you in the face if you mess with my loved ones.

    Peace!

For WWII, we were the ones late to the game. Part of it was our army was in no way ready to take on the Axis, and part was the US pop just wasn't interested in another "European" war. IMHO, none of the powers got involved because we wanted to save the Jews, it was just the 1000's of years old chess game of power politics.

Europe had been a sea of shifting, politically expedient alliances for hundreds of years. Enemies became allies, and allies became enemies, and war after war was fought. Everyone kept shifting and combining to take down whoever was the top dog at the time so no one power could dominate the rest. Look at how quickly the coalitions came together once Napoleon started kicking everyone's a$$ all over Europe. "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" was how it worked.

WWI was a culmination of this, and we came in late to that party as well (a good thing IMO). Then WWII erupts and Europe is at each other's throats. They weren't gonna let Germany take over and dominate the continent. UK\Russia pushed hard for us to get involved but we stayed out of it for the most part, until Pearl Harbor, then it was go time. Even after that we didn't go in like gangbusters...we hit Africa first so our military could get "bloodied" (and got our a$$es handed to us until Patton took over). Then Italy as a warm up for Western Europe. Stalin had been pushing for a second front for years before we finally hit the ground on D-Day. By that time Russia and Germany had been at it for four years and millions had died on each side.

When dealing with international politics, you have to take any sort of morality\doing the right thing\etc. out of the equation. Everyone is out to get something out of it. Doing the right thing is how it gets sold.

This long winded diatribe in no way is meant to denigrate the efforts of the men and women of our military who fought. They are heroes. More just to understand how the powers that call the shots think.

Exactly...the risk of going in to Rwanda was outweighed by the reward. It's cold, it's clinical, but that's how it works. And TBH, if you're a leader of your country and aren't willing to play the game this way, you're either an idiot or a traitor.

    Just how the world works.

I love you all...but gotta jump in...

DP, I really wouldn't care if armies marched through Raqqa and popped every Isis dude in the head...

But, nowhere near the scope and scale of what happened in Rwanda, let alone Nazi Germany. Concentration camps were operating upwards of 12 years(?) give or take...

Jeopardy is a great show, Ken Jennings is a fkn savage.

What to do with the migrants? Not touching that one, I have my rifle...maybe keep the womens and kids?
