Without a doubt. Hopefully nothing comes of them of buzzing one of our ships. That was them basically daring us to do something.

I would prefer Putin as our leader better than the idiot we have now.
Or any of the candidates running for prez. Sad, isn't it??

Had I been the Captain on that ship, that pilot would have been in the water, even if it meant losing my career.....

Yeah but don't you think if we took that plane out it would ignite a full on WW?

    No.
There are more sunken Russian subs at the bottom of the Baltic than there are in port or at sea. Their rockets would explode on ignition= rust.
Having said that, the MIG pilot broke every rule of maintaining distance. The captain was 100% irresponsible in the performance of his duties as to keeping his sailors safe.

IDK man, I bet their equipment works just fine. Plus, maybe the captain was told to "stand down"? I wasn't there, but I'm pretty sure if we took that plane out all hell would break loose.

Stand down? Perhaps. But he should have disregarded it. The asshole in the White House has "transformed" USA into a nation of cowards.

If that sh!t had gone down in the North Sea or North Atlantic, then that plane would've been blasted out of the sky. Our guys in the Baltic are ducks in a barrel, they need to be careful cause that's the Russian's back yard. Our guys are there primarily to shadow Russian subs and surface ships headed into the strategic Greenland/Iceland/British Isles gap.
See how much I know just from reading Tom Clancy? I don't need no stinking formal edumucation!!!

Wow, I can't believe I actually agree with you on this. And you're speaking from an educators perspective? Or was that all a story made up by Bill to give you sh*t?

"Here's why the Navy didn't shoot down the Russian fighter jets that buzzed by a US destroyer"

    https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/heres-why-navy-didnt-shoot-141845003.html

"You don’t get to kill people just because they’re being annoying," retired frigate and cruiser commanding officer Capt. Rick Hoffman told the Navy Times about the incident.

"We’re not at war with Russia," Capt. Rick Hoffman said.

"It would be one thing to be operating and have a threatening attack profile from someone who might not recognize me — that’s not the case here."

"It would be real interesting to see what shows up in the Russian papers in the morning, how they play it," Hoffman said.

"It's not that different from North Korea. He does something and then he plays it domestically however he needs to play it for the purposes of getting his people energized."

Come "sit" in on one of my classes...

I agree to some extent but there are a lot of good teachers out there... Our hands (teachers') are tied. Core class teachers have state tests that are scrutinized, while elective classes have to submit "artifacts" to some entity to show if our students have "grown."

I play a game called, "Fool the State," where my students look miserably uninformed and untalented in "point one" of a video, and then look brilliant in "point 2". I even told the state superintendent that I did this. I also informed her that it was a major waste of time and resources, that could be used for real instruction.
