Any of youse guys eligible to work in Canada? If so, read up. This sounds too good to be true, but if true, what an amazing looking place. Anybody surf up that way before? I know it gets good, seen some videos before. Link and article below...

Cape Breton is a small island at the eastern end of Nova Scotia. It features all four seasons, the population (as or 2001) is just under 150,000 and the community is true to its small town roots.

The Farmer's Daughter Country Market, a bakery and general store, is a staple of this hidden paradise and it is looking to expand. They have everything they need, except people.

After hiring all the qualified locals in need of a job, the business put out a nearly too-good-to-be-true call for help on Facebook.

Anyone willing to relocate (and meet the needs and qualifications of the store) will be offered a job and two acres of land to live on.

However, since the town is not qualified for the Foreign Worker Program, it can take only people who are legally authorized to work in Canada (just a few extra steps for any foreigner who really really wants the job).

I got mine reduced to reckless driving over a decade ago, would that disqualify me?

10 years and you're ok... And it would be ok with the reckless driving anyway.

That's like 6000 tricks for you sister brah. And if you're letting her keep half of what she ears that's 12,000 BJ's.
    That could take weeks!

Humm, this could help accelerate my plans of conquering Nova Scotia and turning it into the Free State of Chavez.
What's not to like? Surfing? Check. Fishing? Check. Moose hunting? Check.

Yeah man, you know what's up! Just have to deal with the cold weather, but that's OK!

At this point, I'd be willing to deal with the cold rather than live around here where I'm surrounded by f@ck-ups and clueless, entitled people.

Yeah man, I kinda dig the small town thing. Have a nice plot of land, neighbors are a good distance away. Can just do your thing and not be bothered. And it looks beautiful there. The fishing / surfing is probably amazing!

Don't want to be a buzz kill, but some downsides:
    1. Currently no SI surf reports for Nova Scotia (although could keep sir austin gamefullly employed for a few man months or perhaps zach619 could post up his algorithm) -- untill then its MSW or SL.
    2. Looks like the nearest break would be Point Michaud, 1hour 15 minutes (from Whycocomagh, NS, Canada, where the jobs is). Google Map-age

Other than that looks like a nice place plus the surf looks ok at these spots. And if you are unemployed, homeless, or live in the middle of the continent, it would be very interesting. And 2 acres would be nice!

    MSW Point-Michaud-Surf-Report/759/

That is all .. carry on.
