I told Greg to put my board on the shelf until I know when I can pay for the rest. He said it was going to be finished next week! It took way longer last time. I guess putting half down really motivated him lol he said he’ll wrap it up and wait for the green light to put to the finishing touches on. He said it won’t affect anything, just my ability to be stoked on a new boart.

You need to read what BassMon said to me earlier... funny how some offhand back and forth on a social website can slap sense into you when you need it. Sharp kid, and just being reminded of those things completely changed my outlook today. Yeah, I just spent a big chunk of dough I really don’t have, on TWO borts but you know what? That feeling and the stoke DOESNT change because of outside shit - it helps us THROUGH that outside shit. You are a smart and capable dude and will land on your feet - you know it. Be PSYCHED about that bad Larry!!

Yeah I’m hoping! Went and did some paddling and floating around on the Rawson as prep, plus I’m just frothing for anyfrikkenwave and being on the water is cool too. Funny the looks you get from tourons as you walk by with bort under arm and they see no real waves. One couple even asked me if I knew something they didn’t so I told them the ferry comes by every 20 minutes and sends a head high wave to shore ... they watched for the ferry for about an hour

half inch stringer thats a nice nice touch too most folks dont think about the stringer
keeps the board from twisting and flexing so much
Im a fan of plain white double and triple stringers

Back in the 70s we used to wait for the Japanese factory ship to go by the jetty cuz the wake would be chest high when it came in

I really dont think its that big a board for you ,i mean especially a year rounder ,some wetsuits really get heavy when wet so that size board on a choppy day in the winter with some drift....well there it is
id be on a 9'6" if i had to load up with a 5mm or thicker suit and im at 135 when im fully dressed maybe 140 with all the beer ive had today

stiffens nose-to-tail flex, absolutely... does not change torsional flex

I’m praying Jak, right with you on that. The stringer and heavy deck glass were add ons for free from Roberts himself because I called to add a 30 rack for the buoys in the shop and he was super stoked and thought it was a cool gesture. It was one floated by a few people right here in dis tread.
Im lucky enough to have a 4/3 BodyGlove that keeps me warm with 3mil hoodie and 5mil bootie all winter long til the water gets into the 30’s. Then I drag out the Red Cell 5/4. But with a suit on I probably go 230-235 and wide from sternum up so I end up looking like TRex jamming my hands into my ribs. I’ll surf a 3/2 until water gets into 50’s and be warm.
But you know what’s frikken awesome Jaks?? This time last year we were wearing wetsuits during the first storm - this time I’ll still be in shorts and rash guard! Water is still in the low 70’s so that Kosmik thing could be happening for me and this bort - perfect conditions to test run and learn a new sled.

An increase in wood mass of the stringer by what 100% so increasing stiffness just because of mass itself i think it would have to impart a measureable increase of resistance to torsional stresses from any direction

No offense but I would take LBCrews opinion / advice before most others on this site regarding board design / science.

So I’m doing prep and checking on Brooke’s repairs and decided to rack the Rawson ... and thats when it truly hit me: I’m completely going hard right with my surfing hahaha
The coke bottle green board has been my “performance” bort - and holy smokes that is a big drop in size. The Roberts is only a tad bigger and thicker so I’m stoked 3FD48EC1-E856-409E-87EF-AE8BC5B728CB.jpeg
