Why is it that the OCMD tide chart is basically the same as the Southern Del. tide chart?? I was under the impression there was about an hour difference in the times... Granted these are fairly large reigons, and not specific locations... but the difference is like 1-2 min. on the chart. Just curious if this was correct or not, i could be wrong...
i just checked the whole mid-atlantic, and its basically the same tide times from monmouth county NJ all the way to Frisco, and surfline disagrees.... im confused.
no, delaware tides are from indian river and md tides are from ocean city pier. Much of the time there is about an hour difference, but the predictions are much closer today.
so were just in some slightly abnormal tidal patterns at the time being? interesting.... what is the source for the Swellinfo tide charts? i used to always just use NOAA, but its so conveniently laid out here, and the NOAA site is a pain to navigate. Also... it would be cool to see the live storm surge data on here, as compared to the actual predictions
not sure if this is the case here but a lot of times, delaware tide charts reference the indian river coast guard station. The IR CG station is inside the inlet where tides are always an hour or so later than the ocean coast so thats what your seeing if your seeing tide predictions for Delaware an hour later than OC. The actual ocean tides in Delaware are always within a few minutes of ocean city's ocean tide ..every single high and low tide all year.
