Looks like the winds went more NW today... Should have been some solid ones on Long Island and Rhode Island. Who got some?

Never rode across the sound, so no frame of referance. Yes year round and we do have some good breaks, there's a ferry in the summer from here to there, and we pick up swell from almost 360' strong over night NE will even fetch up to waist high. come check it out some time

    hey coop,

so how are the swellinfo block island forecasts? do you check all of different forecasts for each beach facing direction?

that's sick coop! i'd imagine it'd be expensive to live there year round tho, no? i mean, it's an island, seperate from mainland, so things must get expensive due to access...there must be alot of cargo ships going backand forth all day...i thought people just lived there during the summer and fall, like fire island kinda...

are there any beach breaks, or iz it all point breaks? i'd imagine some sick spots there, taking in swell from the south to the east...u also have a wide spectrum of winds to work with, meaning offshore conditions almost guaranteed SOMEWHERE on the island!

have u lived there all your life? or are u a "transplant"?

Transplant, but been here for 4 years and have gone off over night maybe 4 times. You can live in some sick houses in the winter but year round housing is a ***** to come by. The swell info forcast are pretty good, the S swells some times wrap around bigger than you call for (3/18 around 4:30pm see the pictures posted as off ri). We have point, beach, shifty sandbar and psudo reef like breaks, and since it's an island we can find some bump breaking some where most days, unless it's dead flat and you could waterski the 13 miles to the mainland
