Are these strong northeast winds going to destroy the ese swell that's heading for south facing rhode island breaks? 4.3 Feet ese swell is forecasted tomorrow, but won't these 40 knot northeast gusts all night long cause the swell to change direction and cancel out the ese since it's crossing it up? The buoy is already starting to show a ene swell at 10.8 feet. East can get in on south facing, but forget if there's a northerly component.

experience my friend, learn more buy checking spots and then come compare all the data.

big swell can wrap 180 degrees........

Yes, but I thought only long period swell can refract like that? Buoy has been at like 6 seconds today.

it wraps in, but it's usually gutless...it's not like south swell, where there'z actual push. and there'z usually ****loadz current associated. u need u jetty like LB spots for this shiit...hmm, wunder if demoz iz werkin?

When conditions get good, I was always amazed by how many people would show up out there. Been there on so many bad/barely worth the effort days with noone out that I had no idea how many people keep tabs on it.

Your confusing wind swell data vs groundswell data. Look deeper into the buoy data, its there. Seek and you shall find. Analyze your buoy data thorough this entire swell and begin to understand what this data is telling you. Once you understand it , you'll know where and when to go!!!!

yea it was working last night but there were like 8 guys just dropping in on eachother at the jetty, they were still rippin but past there position the point was wrapping
even with the light onshore winds it was a good sessh

longer periods always make a pointbreak happy

What do you mean? Are you talking about "Swell height" vs. "significant wave height"? Please elaborate.

I've been down there several times this year, one day was a complete zoo, and the other 3-4 times me and my buddy had the whole break to ourselves, seems to be hit or miss with the crowds there
