So i just bought an 7'0" egg/funshape and I am worried that it might be to small for my weight (190-195). I had a 7'2" that worked perfect, but I wanted to go a little smaller for better control. 15" nose, 21 5/8" wide, 15 1/2" tail, and 2 7/8" thick Anyone out there ride a board like this? Might have to go back for a 7'4 or 7'6. Sh#t....
remember, length isn't the only dimension to consider here... Give it some time, anytime you get a new board, it is going to take a little while to get used to it.
ive ridden a 7'4 board. its not for me i like 6'0-6'8 the most but we are totally different weights. but like he said you just have to keep on trying then if its totally not working you should go with a 7'3 if 7'2 worked good
7'0" x 21 5/8" x 2 7/8" thick is plenty big. That's wide and thick for a 7'0". By the way, cutting 2" of board length for "control" (assuming you mean turning) is not even much of factor. Board width and thickness, rocker, fin setup, and tail shape could all matter as much for control and turning than cutting 2 inches of length.
I am 190 lbs. right now and my fish size is 6'0" 2 7/8" thick (i forget the other dimensions) and it is a perfect size fish for me. Especially since it's an egg/fun shape it will suit you fine. wow 175-190 lbs? your weight must really fluctuate.
