Whatever. As long as you're having fun and following surf etiquette, you can be riding a coffee table.

Awesome. I finally know why I surf only epoxy (hand shaped, glassed) boards! Wife doesn't complain. I always say my ***** is measured on the Hawaiian scale. 5 inches equals 10! Bahahahaha

This is why females have so much trouble with depth perception: Hey babe this is six inches hahahaha

I always argue with my hard core shaper who says epoxy sucks its too stiff too floaty yada yada blah blah blah. He is living in the past, epoxy cores and glass are way more flexible then they were ten years ago, and unless you are surfing OH plus it will flex and respond now days so you cant tell the difference until you drop it in the parking lot and it doesnt ding. If you shape it doesn't have as much stink as traditional technology, unless you harken back to balsa.

Epoxy is the present/future until carbon is affordable and less stiff to work with, unless you have a sponsor

The only eps/epoxy boards I've ever ridden were stringerless with carbon rails or carbon wraps. So I can't comment on the stiffness aspect of a traditional eps stringered blank.
The eps/carbon has in my experience a lively feel and flex pattern that makes the board spring out of turns.
In head high and under its my go to.

Although the boards are super light and very responsive. With my carbon wraps I've noticed that if your foot placement is off just a bit your gonna bog. Imo Definatley a board for a more advanced surfer.

    No. How they go?
Lib techs, solomons(rip) never tried that tech.
My first ever experience other than PU was an stringless eps/carbon with a cork deck.
Absolute magic in the chest to head zone.
Since then I've gotten a lost carbon wrap and just ordered another.
Pricey but it'll outlive a PU.

There's a shaper in my area who's been messin around with EPS with a full carbon weave wrap. Boards look pretty nice and not too bank.
    Is the coil similar?

Not sure what board you're looking at with that shaper but Coil is top of the line in the Epoxy world.

Like I said his boards/shapes are nice.
But what exactly is a Coil?
Is it that vacum sandwich thingy?

Are they pricey? Sounds like a lot of work. Customizable?

$600 - $750 most likely, depending on fin box choice and if you want color or not. Maybe 90 days?

The lost carbon wraps are pretty life changing too. The carbon placement coupled with a cloth that runs diagonally across the board giving it a unique flex and responsiveness. Like is said before hands down the fastest most responsive board I've ever experienced.
