I use them on my SBs, but nothing else. And here's why... I only ride shortborts in good waves. In small waves, I'm really not pushing that hard... it's more about flow and smooth turns on a fish, Simmons or log. But when the waves are good, I find that it definitely helps you hang on when you're pushing (or pulling) sideways, or when the lip of the wave explodes right next to your foot... which tends to blow my back foot right off the board. It does also help you "find" your spot, but for me that's secondary. The primary reason is definitely grip.

I wax the bottom of my board. It slows it down enough that I don't a stomp pad or wax on the top! WOOOOO

This exactly. I only use them on my shorties. Feeling the bump of the pad against the outside of my right foot when I pop up lets me know in an instant that i'm exactly where I need to be.

On fish/simmons/LB my foot placement is more fluid, so no pad necessary.

yes - nothing better than loading up for a nice turn and feeling that back foot in exactly the right spot on the pad and driving through a turn. I feel like doing it without the pad just doesn't have the same leverage.

I gotta have the pad...I try to move my back foot around and once I feel the tail kick, I know I can "attempt" to lay into one. Probably would have a problem without the pad.

I doubt the same adhesive would stick as good as the first time after being removed and reapplied but you might use some additional adhesive and that possibly could make it hold, but never tried it.

I would not try it. If it was properly applied to the original board it will probably come up in pieces anyway.

Not worth trying it. They are cheap. Go to the surfboard warehouse website.

Look in the sale section and click traction. They got a few for 20 bucks. Or buy a non sale one for 25 or 30. In my opinion, as long as it has that back kick pad, that's all you need. Should be some in the sale section. Unless you want to match colors and crap
