after each session i pick up trash. there’s always some and sometimes so much it’s depressing i have found: - most people are above the act of picking up trash - everyone enjoys a clean beach - they say/think: someone else will do it - dont we have paid people to do this
Its called liberal logic. Use one hand to point to a problem and use the other to point at someone else to fix it. I usually pick up trash that is not biodegrade.
I usually pickup trash when I am rolling OBT late at night, but don't tell the ladies I called em that......
After a sesh, I pick up my stuff and leave. I don't really see much trash on my beach, unless you are referring to the tourons
Yup me to...always able to find a plastic bottle or two to pick up when walking to the truck after a session...I'll be picking some up tonight after work!!!
I will pick up trash if I accidentally drop it. Other than that, I am not your maid, butler, or concierge, nor your beach attendant. I know a lot of people at these beaches--those that leave more trash behind are ALWAYS the ones that bitch the most about it--always. And they usually are liberal minded morons.
We had some city folk who didn't surf park in a handicapped spot with no placard, then dump their trash next to their SUV with trash cans 30 yards away in either direction. When I came back an hour later, some young kid was trying to wash all the wax on every single window with a damp rag lol. The back window said, "PICK UP UR TRASH U KOOK" Surfers are so fuckin cool
going through that angry part of sobriety. so yes I would of thrown a rock through his head, I mean his window!
The only thing I leave on a beach after surfing are my foot prints, and maybe a couple of lugies to clear the nasal passages.
Bwaaahahahaaa seriously though, I'm super interested in seeing how Mayfield progresses. I think he's got bigger boom/bust potential than Josh Allen.
Unfortunately, the importance of being a good steward is lost on many people. I believe the public was more environmentally aware in the 70s than they are now. Then, one was ostracized for being a litterbug. There's really no excuse, but many just don't care...don't want to be bothered. They're used to having others picking up after them. I even see it in the office. Now, it's all about convenience, disposable everything, instant gratification, and "what's in it for me?". So many are impatient and in a hurry (for what?), and no matter how easy it's made to properly dispose of trash, garbage and recyclables, there are still those who find even that too inconvenient. I run quite a bit and see far too much trash along the roads that people toss from their cars. Most of this is fast food packaging.
It’s been a while since I’ve picked up trash. Generally, in the winter the beach stays a lot more clean. I obviously notice a lot more in the summer and try to do my part. Sickens me to see junk floating in the line up. Do your part.
What is everyone's view on dog crap? My dog likes to unload right next to the shoreline and I usually just bury it, and no one sees it or encounters it until it ends washed into the ocean where it degrades into nothing in a matter of hours. I feel like thats a better environmental option than encasing the feces in plastic and having a fossil fuel-powered truck transport it to one of overburdened landfills. I like the people who bag their dog's crap...but then go home and leave the bag of dog crap sitting on the beach.
