Looks like Im going to get a free trip to Maui in mid-August through my job. I will have limited windows to surf and want to make sure I maximize my time in the water. Will there be waves there in August, problems with locals, etc? Pardon my ignorance, but just got back into surfing a few years ago and I'm flying blind on this one. Haven't traveled much, just got back from my first real trip (CR). Any advice/tips would be appreciated.

Hey Sluggo, sorry nobody would help you out.

I never get out of Atlantic County these days so I don't know anything.

I would venture to say that the best bet would be on Maui's South Shore at that time of year, but then again, I don't know much aboot Maui. Try to find some info on the intranets. Like, Google "Maui Summer Surf," And see what pops up.

And don't worry aboot the locals, just be respectful and don't make a scene. You're from Jersey so no one should faze you anyway. If you can handle South Philly chicks during the summer, you can handle anyone......

    Have a nice trip.
