traveling up to the cape this weekend with the family, it's my first time up there. looks like they will have similair conditions to new jersey all weekend and am looking for some advice on surf spots up there, possibly one that favors a NE wind. thanks.
look at a map, go for a drive. Could be a long one, An ENE wind is chop on the entire east coast. Good luck
sparkatini comes on here asking for break info, where to surf, all the good stuff. Who knows, he could be a spy from MSW. Usually, such a req from such a tool would be met with thundering silence or the normal SI Forum chorus of go fark yourself. Which is totally acceptable, btw. My 2 centavos on this: OP has, what, 6 posts to his credit. Breaks are crowded & not getting any less so. Ergo, unless the requestor is a SI HOFer, case in point sisurfdogg with well over 1k posts & baddy with over 1,500 posts, then the junior newb looking to mooch off hard-earned knowledge can go lather up a latex barn dummy in Maine. Besides, if it's a vet SI dude there would likely be pm's to share info. Not this air-it-out stuff. I've shared knowledge with other SI Forum posters via PM, and I've been fortunate to receive generous info from them in return. Just so I don't wreck my HOTY chances: hey OP! go back to your sterile goldfish pond & practice your maneuvers in front of your mutant chihuahua. Get back to us in, what, 1,000 posts.
if people want to share that's up to them. looks like someone has a case of the, "self-justification thru the prowess of their online SI presence". troll.
ENE is not detrimental to Rhodey and it's closer to offshore than chop depending on what break you're at. A bit of texture never hurt anyone.
Water in the cape is freezing at best, nice breaks all along the national seashore. Be aware of seal and shark sightings as they are prevalent during this time of year. I've never run into hostility on any beach not seen overcrowding so have at it. Most people are just trying to enjoy time with their family out there.
U usually have to shuttle in and beaches fill up quick, don't dilly-dally, u can get a pass to stay late and have a bonfire at the beach- look into it, it's great fun for the family/ friends and pretty limited.
You lurk & you troll and your sense of entitlement has you believing that everyone owes you something, simply because you are the awesome amazing you. Mirror mirror on the wall.... No elitism here, francis. Only pragmatic action: stay home with your guppies. Don't clog breaks that aren't your home deal.
Thank you. A good swell from the SW exposing the few W facing spots may be the only hope of ENE being closer to offshore. ENE is more sideshore than onshore on most of those spots in Rhode Island. That being said there is very little that is "favorable" to these winds. I will agree however, that a little bump never hurt anyone, in some cases its more fun. Get a map go for a drive. Looks like it could be More Northeast than ENE sunday, but little swell with strong offshores typically gets blown down
