The next 3 weeks are going to be very interesting.... As you can see from the updating pictures above the Atlantic tropical season is about to kick into full gear. Tropical storm Colin and the following storm 93L (which will most likely become Danielle) are clearing out some of the SAL or dry air that is preventing these storms from reaching their potential. This will allow these next couple of tropical waves (which you can see in the second picture) which are over Africa atm to really develop some deep convection and i believe in the next 2 to 3 weeks we should see our first significant cape verde monster!! Igor is forming off of africa! Invest by 11pm update i bet. He already looks pretty good. This storm is forecasted to be the next big one with a possible chance of glancing the east coast.
IGOR!@!!! This thing is looking awesome! From invest to tropical storm really fast and there is basicly nothing that is going to slow it down at this point. There is very little dry air in the atlantic, shear is pretty decent, and there is another storm right behind him!!! BRING IT!
Yeah looks solid now. Watch out tho if this thing goes annular (already almost there) and reaches cat 5 (which most models suggest) it could bust through that trough and destroy some poor city on the east coast. Annular canes pretty much do whatever they want and are hard to forecast. Keep a close eye on IGOR! Edit: Also keep an eye on TD 12. If this becomes a hurricane like most models suggest and moves west both canes could rotate off a center point and that means IGOR would move west of the forecasted cone. I think Swellinfo's models are picking up on this. Pretty unique situation definitely keep a close eye on both storms.
