And so... Peace was restored in the shire. Birds chirped, a glorious beam of sunlight piercing through the shroud of battle has cast a rainbow, separating the dark storm clouds. All was well, a thousand years of peace! hear hear!

    In the category of for-what-it's-worth...

    Surfline's evening report, June 2:
Tropical Depression Bonnie has regenerated off the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Overall this will not have much of an impact on the surf for the East Coast. A small mix of E windswell and southerly windswell is in the water for New England through the Mid-Atlantic on Friday and through the weekend. Windswell from Bonnie has come up a notch for the VB/OBX regions today and will ease over the next couple of days. The SE US coast will see minor/small amounts of trade swell next few days. Some frontal windswell will start to mix in there over the weekend. Florida will see trade swell/underlying distant ENE swell mix next couple of days - just enough to keep things out of the flat zone for spots away from the island shadowing. The Caribbean is seeing new long period NE swell just start to edge in there. This will produce some fun surf Friday into the weekend.
