When I was a kid growing up in PR, my parents bought two Springer Spaniels.
They assigned all the chores of "dog" to me, because in my family I was perceived as the one that loved animals.
I bathed them weekly, picked up poop, etc etc.
Then the two had pups . Now I had 8 Springer Spaniels for which I had to feed, pick up poop, veterinarian visits, etc. We sold the pups, eventually the two Springers died of old age (Paco and Paquita were their names).
Been there done that. Picked up a lot of poop, gave dogs lots a baths.
Never ever, since leaving PR, have I owned another dog. And never will again. Too much dog shampoos given, too much dog poop picked up.
Love dogs, but hate the work that goes along with them. Maybe if I owned a large farm..........

Never trust a guy with a ponytail.

Never trust anyone that the dog doesn't like.
