Good stuff Yankee. Just shows what's possible when folks from both sides of the aisle come together to put their philosophical differences aside for the common good. Those were the days...

Alas, more deflecting and dodging direct questions only to try and vilify me personally. It's getting old Yank. How about you answer a question so we can actually have a conversation.

Yes, I brought up deficits, then you chimed with your 2 cents. So I replied. Then you ran away saying "I never brought up deficits". You're right, you didn't. But you sure didn't mind giving your opinion. To which I responded. Therefore, starting what I thought was a conversation. But I guess not. Apparently, you just give your opinion and no one is allowed to question it or engage you. Cool.

If you ever want to engage in a real conversation, my door is always open yank.

But the fact remains, none of this happens without cuts to spending.

That is my point. Trump has the House, Senate and WH. He also has the Democrats looking like fools right now. This is the prime time to cut spending. If he retains the House/Senate in November, he would be stupid not to. So the Dems will cry about losing government cheese. Who cares. If he wins in November he obviously has no one to answer to for 2 years.

I will repeat again. If Trump were to keep this economy humming like it is, stay out of a stupid war and actually take a bite out of the deficit. Dude would win in 2020 like Reagan in 1980. I am not a fan personally of the guy but if he pulled that off by 2020, I'd have a hard time not voting for him.

We really need what you stated now more than ever.

Do these showboating power-mad dingbats from both sides of the aisle really believe that we sent them into positions of representing we the sheeple just to put on shiiiiiteshows like last week's madness?

    Term limits!
And make them get real jobs for 6 months out of the year!

Weird how Clinton gets the benefit of the "trajectory" from Reagan and Bush. If the "trajectory" was so good why do you think Bush didn't win a second term? Seems that usually winning a war and having a good economic trajectory would have made him a shoe in for reelection.

Would you say Trump benefited from the trajectory set by Obama?

The Dems will fracture if they lose in a month. The Dems with any sense will start to realize the far leftys are killing their party. If they can't take back any part of Congress with the onslaught they have set on Trump, then they better realize they're cooked.

    Term limits for EVERYONE.

Dude. You're obviously reasonably intelligent, and you try to stay informed. So, kudos to your parents for what they produced & raised. Although you've sorta twisted their effort with your attempts at condescension

However, having a convo with you is akin to stepping on a bead of mercury. There's never any finality; whenever you're pressed on a topic you then split the topic of discussion into fragments that are essentially endless in nature o_O

    My 2 centavos.

I like to argue. I have admitted that. And you are correct, at times, I have been known to not know when to quit. But to be fair, we are talking politics which tends to be a bit nuanced and subjects bleed into one another.

Politics are far from black and white. But I am self aware enough to know (and DP has let me know plenty before lol) I can get annoying sometimes. That's why I love you guys, you accept me for me:D Plus, this thread needs a villian, no? If not, it would just be you guys slapping each other on the back all day over Trump and where is the fun in that huh

And as much as it pains me to say this....this is one of the few places I can talk politics with people whose opinions I actually care to listen to. Most have their heads up their asses and though for some on here, that is the case, a good portion of you guys are fun to go back and forth with.

Can't surf because of this damn red tide still.

I too wonder how Barry is doing. Have a trip to France in February and would love to hear what spots he enjoyed.

I only see one side saying our rights need the limits they want to put on them. The first in numerous ways & the 2nd, the 10th.

I only see one side working overtime to service the needs of illegals, creating an incentive for them to continue to come. Why? They get more House members based on population.

I only see one side not accepting the result of an election, after they called for honoring the results of the election.

I see one side believes in guilt by accusation instead of the American foundation of due process.

One side is working to abide by the constitution which made American better, the other side ignores it because it gets in the way of their interests. That's hardly making a better America.

I'm not doing a partisan rant. I'm pointing out facts. Instead of trying to blame both sides, why don't you just try to explain what your definition of a polarizing issue is and who's driving a wedge with it? Instead of your verbal diarrhea ad nausuem as to how much you hate Trump?

Sources? I've seen him campaigning which is a pretty common practice by a former POTUS.

    "Sources?"
Do you deliberately miss the point?
    Even when it's a cartoonish & simple-to-follow?

Barack Husein bought a house in DC. Er, an ex-govt employee, by the way, who never made millions bought a house for $8.1 mln in DC.

Ex-presidents go home, back where they came from, but not this one. He stayed in DC to rabble rouse & lead sedition from the left.

Yah. That's a problem for democracy.
