See this drives me nuts. Often when Trumps says something stupid, this is the excuse. So if he says "fire is hot" do I need to ask you what he really means? Discouraging intruders...you think the immigrants read that tweet and said eff it and turned around? How about he convey a message of strength by getting Mexico to pay for the wall like he promised. Everything else is excuse making. This is Trumps "you can keep your doctor" moment, you should hold him to his words like you did Obama.

Yeah Kyle you have a good point.

And as to your previous post: yes, we all know Trump is a liar. At least, most of us already know that. ;)

But Trump should be held to the same standard as Obama. If only the mainstream media was held to that same standard. And let's be honest, the MSM has not.

I think the point is, I've yet to see a US President that has never lied.

I never believed that Mexico would pay for a wall or fence. Because Mexico never pays for anything.

We forgave a half billion dollar debt back in 2000. Pretty sure it wasn't the first time either.

Anyone who ever lived in San Diego knows how much Mexican sewage flows from Tijuana to the US every winter, turning surf spots from IB to Blacks into churning brown toilets. Yet, San Diego, the state of Cali and the Federal government had to foot the entire bill for a billion dollar treatment plant (that doesn't even work). Mexico paid NADA.

So nobody should realistically believe that Mex was gonna pay the bill.

But, there are many creative ways to extract that money. Higher charges for visas, for example. Personally, I think that if they ever figured out a way to charge additional taxes on those old Western Union money orders, they would pay for a wall in less than a decade. The Latin Americans heavily use that system to send both illicit and legal funds back to their countries.

But yeah, Trump's a liar. Tell us something we don't already know

I get where you are coming from, but while he was campaigning I think a good portion of his voters actually believed he would get Mexico to pay for it. Now it seems they don't want to admit they were had and just make excuses to save face.

Yes other presidents have lied, but running your campaign on what is essentially a lie (the Wall was his biggest campaign hot button imo) is something new. Obama ran on Obamacare and he passed it, no matter how much of a failure it is, BO did deliver on it for his voters. Trump ran on something he knew he couldn't get done but we give him a pass saying "yeah we knew he was lying to us the whole time" and shutdown the government until we pay for it. Not exactly what I would call holding his feet to the fire.

I agree about the media being desperately anxious to find any crumb that might hurt Trump. But on this issue, I don't blame them one bit for beating it to death. Republicans have mastered this. When the Dems get caught over promising, Republicans beat that issue until everyone in America knows about it. As they should. Trump's mouth is often political gold for the opposition and he has no one to blame for that but himself. This is just the most glaring example to me but what do I know, could just be my TDS flaring up again, right?

Most definitely wrong. As was the other part of the tweet where he claims "people" are losing sight of the job being done by the border patrol and military. I truly believe most people (left and right) realize and appreciate what a truly difficult job these people have, and given the resources available what a great job they are doing. But i need to stop reading these tweets literally...except when i should be reading them literally.:D

If this were a Republican or Conservative there would be utter hell to pay in the libtard media. As it is, nothing much is mentioned....

Darren Rovell, a sports business analyst who formerly worked for ESPN, called attention to James' problematic use of stereotypes painting Jewish people as wealthy and tightfisted.

'Surprised LeBron, who makes very few mistakes, put this out. Does quoting lyrics from a song absolve the person quoting from the responsibility behind the words?' tweeted Rovell.

'I'd argue no, especially with a following of 45 million.'

No one is gonna remember this week in 5, 10, 15 years.

Use the drops in the market to purchase more. Vanguard index funds are a pretty clean, inexpensive, easy & successful way to having money when you’re older & no longer want to work.

Have you read the name of this thread? Hint: it's not named "Let's cry about Lebron James". If you don't want to hear about Trump then stay off the thread, it's quite simple. There is always a spot for you at the kiddie table if this is too much for ya!

    Merry Xmas Yank!

    Brilliant, as usual o_Oo_O

James is a prominent American businessman, employed by many of the most powerful multi-national corporations on this planet. James is extremely wealthy, wields a powerful amount of cultural & societal influence upon other humans, and people listen to his opinions & comport themselves according to his opinions. James is also a prominent Democrat.

But, if you want to view him as "a basketball player," then by all means sheeple on, mon ami, sheeple on.

Solid play, although BMY pays, what, only 3.28%? Seems there are better returns out there, but go with your comfort level always, of course.
VZ paying 4.38% = decent; and they s/b around for at least the rest of your mortal daze ;)
