It passed the house but not the senate. They need 60 votes, not just a simple majority, and not all republicans are playing ball. They would have to change the rules to a simple majority and Mitch McConnell doesn’t want to do that.

    Agreed.

And yet, in today's revisionist culture that is being jammed down our throats, TR wouldn't pass muster. Simply due to his outlook, common for that era, on race, religion, women, native Americans...

I'm wondering when the historical revisionists will commence their campaign against the white males in history as being evil incarnate instead of the men who built this nation.

Strange & dangerous times as the libtard socialist left gains more power & control.

Strange thing is, the non-minority socialists are undoing their own future.

Gotta love how certain white people are pushing this narrative, but seem to believe that they themselves are apart from those that they publicly revile.

Example: the recent article about the white Harvard professor living in gentrified Harlem and ranting in public about how much he hates white people lol.

I've never witnessed such a complete and total lack of self awareness.

    Ditto.

And / Or, is it such an utter & total level of self-absorption that these folks cannot see past their own constructs of perma-outrage?

Most of them fit under the classification of "those that refuse to learn from history...etc etc". A brief look at the French Revolution, first, ousting the Monarchy and Nobility, by an educated class (Robespierre, etc). Then those that ejected the king and friends were themselves put to the guillotine by the Jacobites that ran the Reign of Terror. So Robespierre and his friends were consumed by the very revolution they started, by the uneducated, low-class peasant types.
    Sound familiar??
Americans are idiots if they think that cannot happen here.

Yes, yes & other factors, B.

The Fr Rev was a culmination of several things: high taxes on the peasant class for everything including the number of kiddos a family spawned; the high taxes were to service the huge debts that the King had run up in the war against England; throw in massive tax avoidance by the nobility which spurred deep resentment amongst the sheeple; the crusher was a famine that lasted several years. When the govt raised the price of bread, that was ballgame.

Massive riots ensued & led to the deposing of the King, followed by the 2-year period of slaughter known as The Terror, eventually leading to a new dictator: Napoleon.

The thing that's fascinating to me out of that whole saga is the bread price hike sending people over the edge. I mean, when you & your family are starving to death what do you have to lose by taking to the streets, eh?

Which is why to this day, we will never see the elimination of welfare & all of the entitlement programs. Politicians are a lot of things but they ain't stoopid: they take away those bennies & where are those people going? Yep. Their doorsteps & yours, too. Pols know their history, mostly.

And recall a few years ago when there were massive riots in many nations around the globe because the price of rice ticked up by a bit. Doesn't take much when more & more people are living on the edge

    Fascinating stuff, B

Every elected official, in office at/during 9-11 and after needs to be investigated/probed, Audit of their entire financials, along with their family and extended families. Most of them would be in jail for simple tax evasion, Let alone all of the major Felonies: Insider trading, kickbacks, collusion for profit, collusion for negligence<<not doing your job on purpose. I could list so many federal level crimes that the vast majority would be convicted of, but it's pointless.

That's what needs to happen. What you would find is that the entire country was sold, once again.

This would include the majority of local politicians, Police, Sheriffs, State Police, all Local DA and State AG's. The corruption in this country is staring at 3rd world levels now.

People really do not understand how much this country has gone to shit. The collapse of the USA is the Goal. As they use to say, "if the USA sneezes, the world catches a cold"; it's the same concept, collapse the one country in the world where people have more free will then any other, and the rest of the world will fall in line.

The end game is simple: One world Govt. One World Currency. One world sanctioned religion. Everyone world citizen will be monitored from cradle to grave. Your children' s children will never have the same freedom that we enjoyed.

So before you, nitwits keep going on and on about Trump, Russia, Blah, Blah, just remember that Trump is an amateur compared to our elected officials over the last 25/30 years. You are targeting the wrong person/s

So tell me, are you a "prepper"?? <grin>
BTW, yeah, corruption reigns king. But it has been like that for centuries. Seek evidence in Shakespeare, for instance. If not there, that toilet paperback called the bible is full of it.
Keep this in mind: humans have always evaded the right vs wrong positions- they favor "it's what you can get away with".

Shit man, corruption was just as bad, if not worse prior to the interwebs taking over 20 years ago. Especially at the local/state law enforcement level. No vest or dash cams. No cell phones recording every move. Think Beuford T. Justice.
The highest levels of gov't weren't much better. Ever hear of President Samuel J Tilden? No? He was on the verge of being elected when the Dems and Repubs made a back room deal that gave Rutherford Hayes the Presidency in exchange for all Federal troops leaving the South. They called it the Compromise of 1877. All the Southern states swung their electoral votes to the Republican Hayes. The end result? Jim Crow.

Funny how so many things in history seem to have been under a program of revision during the last decade, mostly under the auspices of academia.

I guess they didn't get it right the first time

Yep. history being re-written to fit modern agenda.
Custer was a hero. Custer was a tragic story, he was a pawn of the horrible Indian policy. Custer was a glory seeker. Custer was an evil, genocidal maniac. The perspective on one man changed over the course of 80 years.

Russian Orthodox priests never have to worry about Rapture brought on by the Internet, they are above such trivial nonsense.

I missed my calling I guess. Do you have to take a vow of chastity? Because if so, eff that sheeit
