Pelosi looks like a big time alcoholic

 

None of these people are leaders. They are all, at this moment in time, etching reputations as asshats. Yes, that includes Trump, Pelosi, Schumer, et. al.

800,000 people out of work, countless Americans across the nation negatively impacted in many ways, all due to these asshats conducting their Big Diick Contest. It's not at all about public policy & national security. It's all about power & control for these individuals.

We elect them to represent US, to find common ground, to govern according to the most amazing documents in the history of the human virus. They get into office & it becomes a parade of charlatans & asshats. On our dime.

 

So, my dad works at the U.S. National Arboretum. They are currently shut down. I have not asked but, I hope somebody is taking care of the bonsai trees... There is a tree there that was in Japan during Hiroshima and was gifted to the United States at some point. I believe it was started in the 1600's.

Be sad if it could make it through Hiroshima, but not a government shutdown...

 

I don't see how this shutdown is helping Trump at all. If the self proclaimed world's best deal maker can't get the votes, then either the country doesn't want to pay for the wall or he isn't the negotiator he claims to be. That mouth of his is coming back to bite him hard on this one.

 

It is not helping any one of the politicians, either side of aisle.
As for Trumps mouth. I agree--it is his worse enemy.

 

I've been through several of these shutdowns, and they really had little effect on myself or my co-workers.

We were also given various resources to help employees to either stave off bill collectors temporarily, or acquire temporary loans to pay bills outright.

I've personally never seen a government worker go through bankruptcy, get evicted from housing or fail to pay any obligation during any shutdown.

But the media sure seems to be drumming up a lot of unnecessary fears and is in full speed ahead mode with questionable narratives. Read a story about how Trump's "corporate welfare" to farmers because of the tariffs isn't making it into the farmer's hands because of the shutdown, which means the possible collapse of our farmers.

Take out the word "farmers" and insert any other occupation and you're up to speed on the current narrative the MSM is frothing about
