I find this Govt shutdown very interesting. Its been a month now and so far most people will agree that this shutdown has had very little effect on their lives. Is Trump downsizing the Govt under our noses?

As with many things, if one is not personally/financially affected by it, one might have that perspective.
I know individuals and families who are already affected by it as well as those who will be greatly affected should this partial shutdown continue. This underscores the importance of having an emergency savings account.
However, it seems that this shutdown and furloughing are getting much more attention by the media in a shorter amount of time than those in the past.

the shutdown hasn't directly affected me yet. it's a lot like an illegal immigrant has very little effect either.
