Sen. Cummings was cumming in his pants as Cohen spoke.

So all the things he said that help Trump like he didn't see any Russian collusion is a lie also? And the documents he provided to back up his claims are all fabricated?

I am not defending the guy, he is sleazeball and a liar. But he seemed better composed than Kavanaugh and Whittaker up there and brought evidence to back up his claims.

I also found it funny that Republicans didn't try to rebuke the things he said about Trump at all. They constantly attacked Cohen but never said anything really to defend Trump's character or the substance of any of Cohen's accusations. That was very telling to me.

Wonder why it took Trump 10 years to figure out he is a rat?

I was underwhelmed lol. The misappropriation of campaign money used as hush money for illicit sex is prolly a criminal offence, and they have a paper trail to corroborate Cohen. But I could give a shit.

The layers of obfuscation Trump has set up will prevent them from ever 100% proving collusion with the Russians - a favor smearing Hillary for favors returned in Crimea, Ukraine, Syria, and elsewhere by our leader. I don't see a smoking gun, and I don't think Mueller has one either, just lots of ugly facts implicating everyone Trump is surrounded by.

I think with someone like Cohen you take everything he says with a grain of salt and you scrutinize everything. I believe none of what he says. He said he doesn't have evidence of collusion but he has his suspicions to make sure keeps that narrative going. I believe there was no collusion, but that doesn't mean Cohen is telling the truth. And just because he brings a check with Trump's name on it doesn't mean anything. You can't prove that is what the payment was for (Stormy) just based on that. Not saying he didn't pay her, not saying he did either, just saying you can't prove it from what was presented.

How do we know that this isn't a well-contrived smokescreen, and that Cohen isn't just wagging the dog in a concerted effort to distract from the original cause for the investigation?

After all, if Cohen had a the slightest shred of evidence that Trump himself had committed an actual crime, logic would dictate that Mueller would have asked the Justice Dept for a warrant, and would have put a gag order on Cohen.

Parading Cohen in front of God and Congress is just a sh1t show meant to lend legitimacy to Mueller's probe.

Lots of overseas indictments and a handful of convictions for lying and taxes, yet not a single arrest for any type of activity which Mueller's commission was tasked to investigate.

I submit that this entire probe is just political satire, and Mueller is doing exactly what his puppet masters have directed him to do: take out some of Trump's closest aides with smear campaigns and trumped up charges in an attempt to totally de-legitimize his campaign and his administration to make it easier to win back the White House in 2020.

They don't want to impeach Trump. Not really. That's a Pandora's Box they don't want to open.

But Kiddie, people are going to prison. 'Trumped up charges' have resulted in consequences.

Dems are following the Republican's Bill Clinton playbook. Keep investigating a liar until you find something to get him on. It almost worked for them in the 90's. Started with Whitewater, that didn't lead anywhere so they kept digging for 4 years until they got him on lying about a blowjob. History repeating itself.

This is also true. But what are they going to prison for?

Cheating on taxes. Misreporting finances. Lying under investigation. And even lying about their contacts with certain Russians.

but not a single arrest has been made with the actual charge of "collusion", which the Special Counsel and congressional leaders have stated is not actually unlawful and could probably not be charged.

I'm not saying collusion and Trump's dealings with Russia didn't happen. If you've been paying attention, you'll find that I actually believe most (if not all) of the charges being levied.

I'm just stating that Mueller has yet to come up with an actual Smoking Gun. Otherwise, Trump would have, at the very least, been subpoenaed by now...or some type of warrant would have been issued.

all the investigation has really produced up to this point is a steady stream of dirty politicians to parade in front of the public to keep them salivating like a bunch of blue Pavlovian dogs.

'socialism as a scheme to redistribute wealth more equitably'

The above to me is what Trump is all about and what his actual supporters love about him. Before getting all triggered think about it for a second, socialism is not a rigid as many believe - there are branches. To me Trump and his supporters are in fact a branch of socialism.

Make America Great Again is all about Americans getting jobs back at the expense of the companies that run them. Trumpsters want Apple to make their phones in the USA for no other reason in that they think American workers should be entitled to these jobs. Trumpsters dislike free trade and globalization as they think it takes away what they are entitled to, jobs. Entitlement is socialism.

When has Trump ever asked his supporters to get more/better skills or a better education? Pretty sure never. Instead he promised winning and jobs for no other reason then they are Americans - and Americans deserve it.

Is AOC a socialist? For sure. But so is Trump.

GOP reps refer Michael Cohen to DOJ for alleged perjury during hearing

House Oversight Committee Republicans on Thursday referred ex-Trump attorney Michael Cohen to the Justice Department for alleged perjury, claiming he lied during sworn testimony before the panel a day earlier about a number of issues including his ambitions to work in the Trump administration and contracts with foreign entities.

Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., penned a letter Thursday to newly sworn-in Attorney General William Barr, citing evidence that Cohen “committed perjury” during his hearing before the committee on Wednesday.

“We write to refer significant evidence that Michael D. Cohen committed perjury and knowingly made false statements during his testimony before an Oversight and Reform Committee hearing,” they wrote. “While testifying under oath, Mr. Cohen made what appear to be numerous willfully and intentionally false statements of material fact contradicted by the record established by the Justice Department in United States v. Cohen.”

They added: “Mr. Cohen’s testimony before the Committee at times was in direct contradiction to assertions contained in pleadings authored by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY.) There are other instances in which Mr. Cohen’s statements to the Committee were immediately contradicted by witnesses with firsthand knowledge of the subject matter.”

Cohen previously pleaded guilty to one count of lying to Congress, in relation to past statements before a Senate committee.

In their letter, Jordan and Meadows detailed several allegedly false statements made by Cohen on Wednesday.

They cited his claim that he “never defrauded any bank,” contrasting that with Cohen’s plea agreement that referred to his crimes as “bank fraud.”

In addition to the false statement to Congress count, Cohen has pleaded guilty to five counts of tax evasion, one count of making false statements to a banking institution, one count of causing an unlawful corporate contribution, and one count of excessive campaign contributions.

“This point—Mr. Cohen’s culpability for bank fraud—materially affects the Committee’s assessment of his credibility,” the lawmakers wrote.

Jordan and Meadows went on to claim that Cohen made false statements regarding his desire to work in the White House, or in some role in the Trump administration.

“Mr. Cohen repeatedly testified that he did not seek employment in the White House following President Trump’s election,” they wrote, citing court filings made by SDNY. “This is demonstrably, materially, and intentionally false.”

During the hearing, Jordan scorched Cohen, claiming that he turned on President Trump because he didn’t land a job at the White House. Cohen, though, denied this and said he, instead, wanted to be “the personal attorney to the president.”

“I got exactly what I wanted,” Cohen said.

Following the exchange, the president’s sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, weighed in on Twitter, claiming Cohen was “lobbying EVERYONE to be ‘Chief of Staff,’” and that it was “the biggest joke of the entire transition.”

The letter also cited a tweet by former New York City Police detective Bo Dietl, who said Cohen told him “several times” that he was “very angry and upset” that he did not get a job in the White House.

The GOP lawmakers also cited Cohen’s failure to list foreign contracts on a “Truth and Testimony” form he was required to fill out before the hearing.

Further, the Republicans flagged testimony regarding the hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford. They claimed that while Cohen testified he was “a good lawyer who understood the need to present his client with sound legal advice,” he also said he made a payment to Daniels “without bothering to consider whether that was improper, much less whether it was the right thing to do.”

Jordan and Meadows also said that Cohen made a false statement regarding his involvement with the creation of the Twitter account, @WomenForCohen. Cohen, on Wednesday, claimed he did not create the account, and someone from the firm RedFinch made it.

“We were having fun during a stressful time,” Cohen said Wednesday.

The Republicans countered that Cohen reportedly had asked someone to create the account to “elevate his profile.”

The letter said that Cohen's testimony "was a spectacular and brazen attempt to knowing and willfully testify falsely and fictitiously to numerous material facts." They claimed the testimony included "intentionally false statements designed to make himself look better on a national stage," adding: "Mr. Cohen's prior conviction for lying to Congress merits a heightened suspicion that he has yet again testified falsely before Congress."
