It’s no mystery, go look it up. Bottom line, it’s more about letting the open market compete across state lines to lower costs and NOT forcing people to buy something they don’t want or need. It gives people options rather than mandates. Drive prices down so that it’s affordable to get actual care, not just “coverage” while still not being able to afford adequate care.

All my life I wanted to hoe stuff in the hot sun with my trusty hoe, you know, hoeing stuff. It was my dream, but now I can't. Damn you immigrants! You took my job!

I actually did that for a summer after my first year of college, working with jamaicans, mexicans, etc. Had a lot of fun working with them. They were legals here working on permits. Then I went back to college for my 2nd year, during which I had to take organic chemistry, comparative anatomy, and marine sciences on Saturdays for 6 hours. I wished I was back in them there fields taking with them hoe scrapers....
That was my toughest scholastic year.
Oh, and immigration officers would come into the fields and ask them for "papers". They showed them their passes and they were okay. They then asked me and I gave them my American drivers license--they looked at me with a "WTF are you doing here?" look. Gave my drivers back and they walked away shaking their heads. What can I say--I like working.

This type of work may be beneath you, but it's not to A LOT of Americans, believe that.

If illegals were only taking farming jobs there wouldn’t be any in ny.
I was a union electrician and they directly affected me

Yea, not really. Americans have gotten soft. They tried this experiment in Alabama...

"Farmers tell him they sometimes find someone local interested in a job, McMillan said, but the vast majority walk off by lunch. "Very seldom make a day.""

I would also add as a 'fix'. Create a programs whereby anyone who supports illegal immigration can sign up and an immigrant family will be placed in their home and they would be required to care for the for a period of 2 years.

So says one farmer lol Maybe he was part of the problem and is trying to figure out how to get help for the same wage he was paying an illegal under the table? You have a very bad outlook on what your fellow Americans are. I know for a fact plenty of folks are NOT soft and would most definitely take a job like that as long as they were being paid a fair wage for their efforts. Not big money, but at least minimum wage.

And that is where the problem lies with some of these business owners. They're so damn cheap and greedy that they want to cut costs on labor so they can pocket more of the profits. You have to pay Americans, you can't expect them to accept less than minimum wage because that's how they were use to doing it before. They have to adapt, and do things above board, or go out of business. One or the other. If they don't want to play by the rules, then so be it, bye. Someone else will come along do it the way it's supposed to be done.

I thought that undocumented immigrants were not eligible for cash assistance and food stamps?

They are if you have the right person filling the applications (PUEBLO SIN FRONTERAS) for you.
An illegal is arrested coming in, processed and let go. Once you are processed and UNTIL your court day, you can get services. This is why many do not show up at court--they do not want to lose the services of Welfare et al..

I am just telling what I have read over the past few years.

But they are not actually allowed welfare or food stamps. So as Kidde said earlier, the laws/rules are already there. It's really about making sure they are followed.

The laws are only as good as the people enforcing them.

But if they are not documented I thought they do not qualify

Undocumented immigrants, including DACA holders, are ineligible to receive most federal public benefits, including means-tested benefits such as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, sometimes referred to as food stamps), regular Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for health care subsidies under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and are prohibited from purchasing unsubsidized health coverage on ACA exchanges.

Undocumented immigrants may be eligible for a handful of benefits that are deemed necessary to protect life or guarantee safety in dire situations, such as emergency Medicaid, access to treatment in hospital emergency rooms, or access to healthcare and nutrition programs under the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC).

I am by no means an expert on any of this. I leave that to Kidde... I'm just using the google as I'm confident most others are as well.
