I don't know about your city, but with average rents in San Fran at $3,700 a month, I gotta think that's part of the problem. Not to mention the wealthy's disdain for 'affordable' housing projects in their neighborhood that get shot down left and right, means very limited new supply coming online.

 

I'm bored and no surf on the horizon so here are my political thoughts on how the Great American Democracy Experiment (200 plus years and going strong) can go forward without a traitorous demagogue nationalist egomaniac hijacking what our honorable decedents shed blood to protect - the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness: the American Dream.

Therefore my hope is that a reasonable honorable person will dethrone Trump in an honest open election - aka democracy.

Biden is old and East Coast. He needs a younger running mate who has a more Mid Western appeal. Like a big media star from Chicago that can bring in the young and minority would-be voters to actually get off their fat fried food eating asses and stand in line and go fuclkng vote for once in their welfare sucking lives.

So I'm going with Oprah as VP.

I'd be interested in seeing one single person who lives on the street or out of their vehicle because they can't afford the rent, whether it was $300/month or $3000/month. Or has a visible means of support (aka "job") other than Disability or some other entitlement program.

The plain and simple fact is that well over 90% of the homeless population live on the streets because they suffer from moderate to severe mental deficiencies. They cannot (or will not) contribute to the work force, nor can they (or refuse to) live by society's norms and simple rules.

The liberal mantra of "lack of affordable housing" may apply to an extremely small percentage of people who find themselves temporarily without shelter, but has no bearing whatsoever on the massive majority of bums, hobos and junkies who are actively crapping on the sidewalks as we speak.

It just isn't true, but sounds great as an integral soundbyte to further the "wealth inequality" prevarication.

But you're right on the money about the hypocrisy of the wealthy elite who bemoan the "wealth inequality" and " affordable housing " non-issues. If you're rich, you probably shouldn't be giving your opinion on what to do with poor people. Unless you're so altruistic that you 1) give them your money, or 2) let them live in your house.

I think we here on this forum and for that matter, most humans (those without profound mental disabilities) have more in common than not. We want our kids to have a better life, or at least as good of a life as we had it. We want freedom to live our dreams without government BS. We want to be well fed, loved, and safe. And we want good surf, in clean water with only a couple good friends to share it with. Trump offers none of this lol.
