Let's change tack for just a sec and ask a related question:

What exactly did Flynn do that is considered to be so serious?

It's already been proven that he discussed Obama's sanctions with a Russian ambassador, whom the MSM and Dems frequently allege to be a possible spy.

And it's also known that Flynn's discussions about the sanctions were unlawful, due to the fact that he and Trump were not in office yet.

So, unless I'm missing something, what we have to this point is Flynn illegally spoke about Obama's sanctions with a Russian ambassador.

While illegal, the sanctions being talked about are the main focus of the investigation. And for that, Flynn should pay the price.

But it's sanctions ffs, nothing of significance regarding national security were allegedly discussed. Just sanctions.

So what's the big deal, and how do they plan on tying this incident in with the whole Russian collusion thing?

Without more information or evidence, it seems like a desperate witch hunt.

Not defending the guy and I haven't followed the situation closely, but a quick google search will tell you that neither the AG nor the CIA have any evidence of Flynn doing anything illegal.

As far as the Russia connection goes, I don't understand why you wouldn't want it to be investigated. Trump definitely has ties to Russia*. Did he collude with the Russians to win the election? I don't think so. Did the Russian's attempt to influence the election? Most definitely.

*From what I understand, Trump has trouble getting financing in the US b/c he's declared bankruptcy six times. So a lot of his projects have been financed by Russian money. http://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/usa-trump-property/

The obvious question to ask is why did the Russians want him to win? Just because he's a businessman who will be more amenable to lifting sanctions and overlooking human rights abuses? Maybe. Or maybe because he's been in business with the Russians, helping them launder their stolen riches for years (buying real estate is a great way to launder money). And maybe he stands to gain financially by working with them. He is a businessman after all. It's not like he divested himself from his businesses or anything logical like that.

Where there's smoke there's fire, and there's a $hit-ton of smoke surrounding this administration. Just because he says what you want him to say doesn't mean he's going to do what you want him to do.

I have avoided this conversation because I don't really participate in these discussions on this site, and I am to the left of the center. I don't want anything to do with another political fight, so I am giving you an answer because you asked, not to engage in a discussion to change each other's minds. I can tell you without a doubt that I believe that Russia framed this election for Trump.

Mind you, this is from a self-admitted liberal who loathes trump, has never needed assistance of any kind (in fact make enough that I'm likely to see a tax break), does not like Hillary or what's become of my party, does support BLM at its core, and believes that people of all gender and sexual orientation should be treated equally, so feel free to disregard it. I will not, however, engage in political argument, simply answering a question out of respect for another surfer.

I've never been on this forum without opposition, nor has anyone else. Someone asked for an opinion that no one else on this site seems to believe exists, or likely is too afraid of harassment for being different from the ultra cons group dynamic. I gave an opinion knowing I'd be thrashed and didn't care because I have real friends, a real career, a real life and no status to lose here or on any other forum, I don't really have the time for them.
