The way premiums have been increasing since Obamacare has been insane. It's not only hitting the individual, costs for employers are way up as well. The only winner in Obamacare has been the insurers. I'm not sure what the answer is but I do believe we will be under a single payer system in the next 20 years. Again, not sure if that's the best system for the US but I do believe we'll end up there at some point.

I know. It's crazy. I always thought there was a backroom deal with insurers just like typical DC. I'm sure Obama benefited and would try to pass it off like he passed affordable (unaffordable) healthcare.

So he would have to help every single Veterans for it to be successful?

I would argue if there is 1 more veteran for every 100 getting support he wasn't getting before said president acted, then it is a success, albeit a marginal one. By our current numbers, that would be 218,000 vets getting more care. Def not the answer, but a step in the right direction nonetheless.

Very similar to if Trump doesn't create 25 million jobs like he claims he will; but, instead creates 14 millions like our current president has. I wouldn't consider him a failure, I would say that is still positive for the country as a whole. By your logic, he would be a failure in this instance?

I guess we have different views of success. I would be fired with Obama's numbers and he holds the highest office. Trump has already kept manufacturing jobs in this country and he hasn't even started.

I never quite got the Penalty people paid for not having it...I mean I understand the need to have people pay into the fund similar to SS but what I don't understand is why does the IRS collect the penalty and what exactly do they do with the money???

The big winners of Obama care are the 18-25 year olds that can be on their parents company insurance. Or if you are poor enough to get the subsidy. I am about as left as they come so I can say without bias against Obama that the ACA has been terrible for middle class families that buy their own insurance. Most of my neighbors own their own small businesses and buy their own insurance. They have seen premiums and co-pays sky rocket under the ACA, and the deductibles are in the 10k range. So basically they have health insurance to avoid paying for a catastrophic injury. Ya upset the middle class you lose elections, simple fact.

What's the alternative then? The system was broken before Obamacare and is still broken. I believe medical costs are going to keep increasing, whether Obamacare is repealed or not. If trump repeals obamacare, I don't see the insurer's reeling in costs since there is simply not enough competition in health insurance to drive costs down. Medicare tax is currently 1.45% for employee and 1.45% for employer. I don't know how much that would need to increase to support a single payer system. Maybe it is an unsustainable amount, I just don't know.

That's why Trump is going to deruglate and allow these companies to compete across state lines.

It's a tough call. You don't want government handling health care though. The penalty for not getting obamacare starts getting high when you have a family and you pay for each individual. I almost feel it's a way to force you into buying insurance. Remove the penalty, and I think many people would just not get insurance again. Insurance companies may than lower premiums to get people back into the system. Either way, you have to eliminate a penalty. What country are we living in when the government forces you to buy into their healtcare system or they steal money from you in the form of a fine?

Yes, he wants to allow people to shop insurance rates across state lines to make it more competitive. The problem is that many insurance companies are losing money in the ACA and have opted out in certain areas. The determined that the people with pre-existing conditions and highly subsidized poor are killing their returns. They are paying out a high amount in claims to these two groups while not pulling in much in premium. Then, they pass this onto the middle class since we take care of everyone.

Anytime dude, I recall hearing him or someone on his team talk about that. I don't recall the exact source, but pretty sure that's part of the plan.

The penalty payment should have been followed by throwing a Molotov Cocktail into an IRS office or a Democrat legislators office.....

Probably the same thing they do with all the money paid into Social Security by illegal aliens with fraudulent SS cards...it just disappears.

Donald having Russian hookers pee on themselves and him and the bed that Obama slept on because he hated Obama so much. The story came through a British intelligence agent who got it from a Russian leak.
This sounds like a very real news story, and who could doubt it?

I bet there are awesome places in the world you can live where there is no access to news, real or outrageously fake.
