1. Matthew is likely to produce devastating impacts from storm surge, extreme winds, heavy rains, flash floods, and/or mudslides in portions of the watch and warning areas in Haiti, Cuba, and the Bahamas. Please consult statements from the meteorological services and other government officials in those countries. 2. Direct hurricane impacts are possible in Florida later this week. Tropical storm and/or hurricane watches could be issued sometime tonight or early tomorrow for portions of the Florida peninsula and the Florida Keys. 3. Tropical storm or hurricane conditions could affect portions of Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina later this week or this weekend, even if the center of Matthew remains offshore. It is too soon to specify what, if any, direct impacts Matthew might have on the remainder of the U.S. east coast. At a minimum, very dangerous beach and boating conditions are likely along much of the U.S. east coast later this week and weekend. Based on the official track the closest point to Florida is 100 miles off the coast, with adjustments possible. Because of this hurricane watches are likely for the east coast of Florida tonight or tomorrow." --flhurricane.com
Every place in RI gets a crowd when there's a good swell on. I have seen point Judith swarmed, Monahans overrun, been threatened on a rare day at Scarborough. I don't surf Ruggles 'cause I would just be in the way. There are a few harder to get to spots. Leftovers are often good, And I can surf weekdays. Lucky me, if you count not working as lucky.
Has been 3-4 solid days of good size waves here in s.c dunno if matt is sending the swell but it has a punch to it make one mistake it makes u pay for it
Frosty, I refrain from the critiques now that you're replacing Ryan Lochte on the next USA squad Vaughan took care of that one. Are those closing out or clean & green from the ...SSE...?
Seem to be from due east if even a slight N component imo so maybe not from Matt maybe from something else...there's rides there not closing out all the way down the line ..not perfect though pick wrong section you'll get closed out best to take a shoulder breeze picked up a tad from north so could go with the swell to the south
High pressure system could keep this thing close to coast. Hugging coast all the up and through Hatteras. Strong storm...
Swell is forecasted to peak at 20.5ft @ 14 Sec ENE around midnight Thurs / Fri. around here. Wind will be all over it but who's paddling out? PSsssshhh!
Ski's are gassed up, hindus are lining up on the beach, bench offs have commenced, it's a full on shred fest!
My local forecast took a royale sh!t when things swung to the west yesterday. After anticipating Sandy-like surf for daze, it's now gonna be a day of blown out mess followed by maybe a good day on Friday. We'll see. Forecasts for here are often wrong. Ready for the first cold front.
Bummer, no telling what this will bring yet, hang in there. Maybe this thing curves out to sea and sends nothing but waves.... one can hope right?
They're freakin out here in Chucktown. Apparently everyone got the memo on the storm this morning. Running outta water at the Walmarts n Sams n junk. Did see some boogie boarders on the cam tho. Those guys are fearlesss
Fu)k, I'm going to get hit again, no electricity for a couple of weeks, no AC in 90 deg. heat...this just sucks monkey balls, thank bejeebus that I have a pool to cool down in.
