Somebody has to pay for our military, so we don't get Muslimed. And all them security measures taken in places like NYC and DC......got to pay for that too. And all y'all angry at the feds who protect you from foreign invaders. Yes, fed money is used in the protection of cities and states.

Capitalism is ok in it's true form but there are certainly some problems there. I prefer over socialism since it and the freedom we have affords me the opportunity to earn a living so I can buy surfboards...then pay more taxes.

Freedom comes with a cost (I know it's cliché ) and I am willing to sacrifice for that freedom. Why should it cost me more b/c I am working my ass off while "you're" sitting on you're ass enjoying the same freedom? Make sense?

I have my semi-dream job. I work little. Can handle my responsibilities in an hour. I rarely get bothered by superiors. And yet, I can't stand it. I post on SI all day. And get paid to do so, poorly. But once my YouTube video of me rapping picks-up steam I'll be set. My "paperwork" is a joke compared to my old accounting days and I can write notes in my sleep.

And thanks to you and Liam my day(dealing with all of these "defectives") went by much faster.

I don't get angry on here anymore. I've bettered myself. And all I have is NJ Family Care, which I never use because I'm relegated to third world clinics. F that. And I might be dying, too.

That is the problem. It turns into a race issue, but really it is a poverty issue and parental issue. There are plently of people who still do well even when life doesn't turn out well. The problem is some of them are brainwashed to believe in the race card and think that's just how it should turn out. The mindset needs to be changed. Hell you can get a GED and have a 2.0 GPA and affirmative action will let you become VP at a corporation.

The way I see it, liam, you and I (plus few others here), spent our lives believing if we work hard, we will get our just rewards. We believe in "right or wrong". Unfortunately for you and me, what matters to most, is "what you can get away with". Sorry state of affairs, ain't it?
But I am NOT complaining, because I was able to retire....twice.....retired....got bored....went back to work for 5 more years....retired again. I am lucky. I hope you can get similar end results; I suspect you will. To me, you and a few others on this site, sound like "good men". Men that any employer would love to have amongst their ranks. Unless you are going to Law School or Medical School college GPA's are all the same. Employers rarely ax for a GPA and if they do they can't check that unless they go through certain avenues. I've had employers ax for college transcripts but that is just to verify completion it's not aboot your GPA. In theory.

So that 3.9 Sally Studious got, is the same thing as my 2.4 I got while drunk for four years. Yeah, life ain't fair.

And, actually, there is racism, of course, always will, but most of todays' issues are class issues.

Come down here and spend a day at The Walter Rand Transportation Center. Having nothing, or nothing to do, kind of sucks. You'll be selling fake pills at transport centers in no time.

 

I've walked in those shoes and lived in poverty growing up. Some people are just too proud to take welfare or food stamps and make it work even when you have practically nothing. If more families didn't get handouts and were forced to not get every cable package and free cell phones, they would have to make due with what they brought home. There are plenty of jobs out there every day I see signs. These people are too proud to bus tables. They just want the handout. I truly believe welfare is required in situations to the parents who actually work the 40 hours on minmum wage. People who don't work, shouldn't get a dime. Let them rot unless they have a mental issue or are a veteran.

I know people who can go get free healthcare while I pay. I think we should all have universal free healthcare, not just the poor. These are the things which strip the middle class and eventually there is no middle class. We pay for everyone. Healthcare should be for everyone or everyone pays. They have volunteer walk in clinics that give free healthcare while we pay which is fine. That is charity and people volunteering. It should be the same for all citizens (pay or don't pay) and then charitable organizations for people who can't pay.

I also have worked in an industry that sees section 8 housing. I have seen many people (illegals and minorities) who have no job and have section 8 housing. I'm not kidding. Depending on the number of kids, they get a huge amount of money many times over 2k for a house rental in towns were people break their backs to buy a house. ARe you saying this is necessary and they should get the house? Give me a break. The world is what you make of it and you have to work for it. People should still get shelter if they are making an effort to work and taking any job available, but they should get the cheapest housing option, period.

I'd like to say that also, as honoured as I am to be considered Riley, we are in fact two distinct people. We're similar in many ways but also different. We have different gods, and Riley was shocked to hear how one day I hope to feed bread crumbs to scalps.
