Its all relative. I'm so used to the crappy swells now, so the waist-high sets on Saturday were actually very fun for me.

you really cant count on hurricane swells in the summer.... they are a rare summertime gift, and usually not even very active until late july/august/september.

im kind of glad that we havent had any real swell since the april. as i had surgery to fix my broken nose and cant surf for another month as i had the surgery the 26th of april and cant surf for 6 weeks and my friends are being able to enjoy not having serious swell with me. which means they cant rub it into me for not being able to surf.

Great statement! After so many years you would think you would never forget, but man after along dry spell I suck worse than ever. Can take a couple of go outs to get back to normal.

its never the "surfing" that I worse at after I don't surf for a long time... Its the paddling, after a month of not paddling at all it seems like the stamina in my shoulders is just shot...

You just proved me right by saying this. Just because hurricane swells in july/august are rare, you can't rule them out completely. There is always hope!

it's over six weeks now without one day of true swell.
all these little days are fun,but not really fun.
i have boards that need real surf to do what they were designed for.
longboard fish egg waves get boring

Amen to that. I'm looking to pick up a board that can handle some real waves soon. Been riding my fishcuit the past 5 sessions .
