I agree, most spots were shoulder to head high. Some people seem to think I meant every wave was overhead. The spot I observed was a popular jetty just south of deal. Was packed to the brim with people, which is why I surfed one break down, but was definately atleast a foot or 2 overhead on every couple of sets. I have a feeling we saw the same spot. It was strange, breaks just one jetty over were a few feet smaller than the break coming in off of that jetty. Saw quite a few people take some bad falls on the drop, luckily everyone was alright though I believe one guy had his board broken.
Earlier in am I was in the southern area of Monmouth co.,around noon ventured that way surf up in that area north of you for a while. Eventually went to that place packed to it gills after seeing a few sets that convinced me to paddle out and tried to snag a few. What a disaster I've never seen so many drop in accompanied by bad surfing. I lasted about a half hour and went to the next jetty down, but was dumping due to the tide. Lots of moving around caught some fun ones but when the popular breaks are the ones working makes it tough to get the sets. Does anyone work anymore? I've never seen so many people out in October, never thought I would say I can't wait til Febuary.
yup... i can't wait either... then in feb when im freezing i will be "can't waiting" till summer... lol why cant all these ppl just go to work like everyone else???
