What a freakin drama queen that doctor was getting pulled off that flight. When you purchase a ticket it says it can happen, and you agree to it as part of your purchase. The people getting on the flight were United employees that needed to get on to avoid canceling flights the next day. Kickoff 4 to spare hundreds. That doctor is an entitled d!ck!!!
Disagree w fungus. The customer bought a ticket. The airline overbooked the flight. The airline failed to get the 4 bumps that they wanted & stopped their offers at $800.00. The airline selected a passenger, Dr. David Dao, and had the police beat him until he was unconscious & bleeding & then drag him off the plane for refusing to deplane under his own power. All this because UA's own policy created the situation. UA could have avoided this situation entirely by upping their offer a few hundred more bucks & people would have been flocking to get off that plane for that travel voucher. As for being "entitled"...? That's a stupid statement. The doc is an immigrant from Vietnam, as is his wife. His wife is a pediatrician, he's an internal med guy. 4 of their 5 kids are physicians. This guy worked his ass off to make it to America & to do something positive with his life. This is the guy that UA beats unconscious because he kept insisting that he must get back home in order to take care of his patients the next day. This tread s/b the usual SI Fourume insanity within the next few hours.
Yankee, what about all those sad and enraged people on the flight filming? If they were so sad about what they saw why didn't they step up to volunteer? My only regret is that they didn't use a taser on him.
That's how I get dragged out of the customer claims department every time I demand compensation for damaged boards.
