I need to get new gear for this year, and I'm pretty tight on money. I have my boots/gloves figured out, but this is my wetsuit plan.

I want to buy this now and use until may
    http://www.pleasuresports.com/hyperflex-5-4-3.html

and buy this and use june and sept/oct to nov where i would go back to the flow in dec
    http://www.wetsuitwearhouse.com/page/WW/mens-fullsuits-32/XK832MF

ive been looking at hyperflex because they're great quality for the price. However, please let me know if you have any ideas or any cheaper/better suits.

    thanks

i like that you've had good experiences with the flow and amp, you're pretty reliable on here =)

as for the gloves and boots, I was actually going to go xcel. i was going to buy the 5 finger drylock since winter is slowly coming to an end, but i was unsure about the boots

The amp you posted is the version made for kite surfing (K designation). I would get the regular AMP if you go that route. That is, unless you will be kite surfing and need the "unique wind features". I have an amp 6/5/4 surf version, and it's been a great suit.

If you're low on funds, you could get a cheaper 3/2 and just wear your 5 mil for a few extra weeks. The warmer the water, the less critical having a top of the line suit becomes, in my opinion.

I've been rocking a Hyperflex Cyclone 3/2 I picked up for like 80 bucks. It's definitely a low rent suit, but works fine. Besides, it was about 220 bucks cheaper than the rip curl 3/2 it replaced. I do have to wear my winter suit a little longer before I can switch to the 3/2.

Less fingers mean less stresss points which means they'll last longer. I would go with mittons.

I have 3 Hyperflex suits, a 3/2 AMP, couple seasons old, 4/3 AMP and 5/4/3 AMP both new this year, they all rock. Coldest day out was 37* water, 40* Air and was fine in my 5/4/3.

4/3 and 5/4/3 are excellent, Hyperflex has improved a great deal in just one model year. I'm happy with all my hyperflex suits, can't beat them for the $$$.

thanks about the amp K, i didn't pick it up at first. As for the suits, I will still browse around trying to find better deals, especially in local shops.

As for the gloves, the only reason I don't want mittens is because by the time i get out it'll be warming up and I was planning on getting 7mm xcel drylock mits for next winter

dont know about the suits but have dealt with pleasuresports and would not recomend them.make sure you get the right size or youre in for a headache.WW on the other hand has great cust service and fast shipping. or better yet check your local shops some sweet deals this time of year . 17 st by my house has all wetsuits 20% off and more. saw the same suit I bought for 30 bucks cheaper .

Really? I ordered my last winter rubber from them and I was pretty satisfied. Sounds like it was more of a return issue?

Anyway to the OP you'll be set with hyperflex. I was also looking at the 3/2, looks sick! Stick with your plan, they make quality suites for good prices.

I just checked out those links. Call Dow at Wetsuit World in Stone Harbor 609-368-1500, his prices are better. I got my Flow for like $180. He is really cool and honest, I would have bought an Amp but he said for flex I wanted the Flow, he didn't upsale me the more expensive Amp.

it's worth mentioning that a lot of shops are starting to put their winter suits (6/5/4's & 5/4/3's) on sale now. oc heritage has them marked 30% off.
