Anyone know of some shops in NJ that have a good selection of used boards for reasonable prices? I know a lot of shops tend to mark up their used boards but Ive come across some good deals in the past. Just looking for some new places to check out since my regular shops dont have much of a selection currently. Also, I know you can usually trade in a board of yours when you buy a new one from a shop but do most places take a trade in even if youre buying another used board? Im trying to diversify my quiver a little more and get rid of one of my shortboards and try out a fish or something new so any suggestions of where to look would be sick.

What u looking for Woody's In Rio Grande, NJ has a wide selection of new and used ,Long to Short ?? I know there are 2 used logs there now a cpl fun boards and short board rangeing in size from 5'8 to 6'9 Let me know what your looking for I can check the racks when I go in Friday

He's got plenty for board in the 6'2 6'3 range used He's got a Lost, a Brian Wynn that was barley ridden and acpl others too. In funboards he has a cpl Woody's boards which are shaped and glassed at Wynn's shop but just sport the Woody's logo I can get a cpl boards dims and prices and shoot u a pm
NJSwell please don't listen to this. I don't know if matt Johnson is boys with the owner of woody's or something, but when ever i'm there it reminds me of a zumies. It's overpriced, very, very, little selection, and its in god awful rio grande. I'd rather go to Pete Smiths, and they haven't gotten anything new in that store since 1995. Matt, your an asset to this forum and bring some good insight, especially your thoughts on hyperflex wetsuits and how sick of a session you just had at stockten st or ocnj, but woodys kinda blows man, sorry. That being said, buying a used board is 25%skill, 30% emotion, and 100% luck. you really have to just be at the right place at the right time. That being said, i've had best experiences with 7th street, surfers supplies, and sun catcher. heritages options are usually overpriced and half decayed. But just look around and you may get lucky. 2 summers ago i bought a brand new 5'10 UM pro model from 7th st for $250 because UM is a dead company (now 21-13 surfboards), and did a trade in also and paid 70 bucks for the thing. was surely stoked.
So What If am know the owner or ride for the shop??? That makes no difference and actually if you price check around town Woodys is cheaper than most of the Shops in Cape May County. Actually He Could go to Kona and buy a crappy pop out from a guy who know **** about surfing but is a know it all at Golf Clubs . He also can go to Wild Ocean and get have some punk kid try to sell him something he dont need. Sun Catcher Give me a break they are one step above Hollister Chris Wood is a good down to earth guy and will get you up with what u are looking for or what is best for you. He has a good selection of boards Wynn, Legend, Firewire, Viking, and Woody's a nice selection of used boards aswell. I guess you havent been in the shop in awhile cause his store is packed with stuff Clothes , Footware, Skate, and Surf Needs. Its almost to the point where it boarder line too much stuff Yeah its in Rio Grande that the year round store the N Wildwood Store will be opeing soon . Give them a call or just drive down and check the local shop out in the area. And if you dont find anything u like Ocean City is 25 mins up the parkway. Surfer Supplies and Heritage have a huge selection aswell. Heritage is carries, Wynn, Bing, Kookbox, Boards by Zeph Carrigg.
second the comments on Suncatcher..total ripoff artists. I was in there last year and they were trying to sell the rich kid a CI that was about 75% delamed for 400 bucks!!! I told the kids parents right in front of the clerk to shop elsewhere because he was getting ripped off. OP--I have a friend who has a very nice Ashton 6 0 roundnose fish he is selling. It's modeled after a Lost RNF and works killer in our summer surf.

Thanks for all the responses, I'm gonna do some shop hunting this weekend and see if I can dig up any deals. I already have a RNF type board, its 6' and since I'm only 5'8", 140lbs its a little big. I still use it a lot since it works better than any of my other boards in the weak summer mush but I cant really get my stance right in the sweet spot since I'm too short for it. I end up having to shuffle a little forward to get through the flat sections and then shuffle back to get some turns in. I think I'm really looking for more of a retro fish/biscuit/pod type board. Something real short and wide and thick. I've never ridden anything like that but I figure for my size something like 5'4"-5'8" x 20"-21" x 2 1/4"-2 3/4" should work well. Well see what I can find!
