Since some of you fellas and ladies have experienced extensive travel, has anyone ever stayed in an overwater bungalow? My personal travel has been, Hawaii, Mexico, Virgin Islands and prob 30 something out of 50 states, but this is something I have never experienced. https://www.yahoo.com/travel/11-of-...our-seasons-maldives-photo-1426282722300.html
Where I grew up we had a word for over the water bungalows. We called them "slums". There was this slum in PR known as "El Fangito" (the mud hole), and that is what it was, bungalows over water in tidal areas in San Juan Bay. But hey...if it works for you!!
Yes, in the Maldives. It's kinda cool. Less bugs than on land. WAY more expensive. I wouldn't bother if this is a surf trip. Its not like you're going to paddle from your bungalow to the break. They put them on the calm side, and it's faster to walk across the island than paddle around it.
