heck yea amazing how quickly swells come up out there! i just got back actually, spent the afternoon prior to the "first big winter swell" surfing 4-6ft (Hawaiian.) when a freak 10 ft set came in and almost caught me. Of the 12-14 people surfing the spot, all but me and one sponger guy got CRUSHED. At least two guys had their boards broken. Fred Pattachia, also out there, apparently paddled into the biggest one and went straight over the falls, only to come up laughing. Only in Hawaii haha...
