VB is a blackhole of surf 2nd to only Tybee Island: Name 1 positive about your break

You got a stretch in front of the Cape Hatteras motel and to the north that your boy posts videos from every week and you wonder why it gets crowded? I realize a lot of those places aren't "spots" anymore, but you don't have near the volume of people surfing down there as in the past. Wave cams have made people lazy.
Also, the entire north end of pea island was ****ed when that super long jetty was put in on the south side of the inlet. That said, there are less people surfing here too though. More casuals with foam boards in the summer maybe, but far less full timers. Surfing is too mainstream now for the cool kids. It's looked at more as a hobby than a lifestyle.

 

^ God I hope those last two sentences are true. Nothing would make me happier than if surfing became so mainstream that it isn't cool anymore.

If possible, please spread that word around, especially in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
