Selling a mid 60's Dewey Weber Iggy model board. It's 9' 7" long and 3" think. In good shape, only small dings to the fiberglass all superficial. The fin is stable and original but has a hairline crack about an inch long. Also has a 1968 Newport Beach Surfboard permit. It's been in storage for close to forty years. Asking $1200. Shoot me a line if you're interested at 323-371-4979 and my name is John
That fin crack looks a tad more serious than a 1" hairline crack. Brand new it was only about $185 bucks.
That is a good looking board, the crack on the fin isn't anything to freak out about as it is a relatively easy fix. The overall condition is good too, if the slipcheck on the deck were removed it would yield probably a pure white look protected from uv rays. The iggy model was a very good riding board from what I hear, functional for a lot of conditions. Since iggy passed away last month this might catch the eye of a collector. Good luck with the sale, nice to see boards like that surface.
For that exact reason the surf shop i took it to wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to take it off or not. There would big white areas where the pad would be. Also yes it could have been 185 new fifty years ago, a 57 bel air was a couple grand and now they are going for 50k+, what they sold for is irrelevant
