So a while back I posted about how I wanted to get a new shortboard and y'all gave some great recommendations as to shapes. Long story short, I realized it will be best to get a board shaped for me as opposed to buying something off the rack with a POS glass job. Who are your favorite shapers in VB. The only local guy I've used is Brazie with valaric. Looking for some other options that you Vbers have had success with. Who do you recommend and why?
It's been a few years since I've been down to Buxton, NC and don't even know if Natural Art is still in business. Owner Scott Busbey had custom shaped a couple of boards for me in the past. He seemed to have a good understanding of what worked well in east coast conditions. Again, dunno. May be an option for. Man I miss that place...good times ,great waves. OBX sticker for your car everyone?
picked up an Austin 6'4" thruster fish board (outta VB) from craigslist up here and i must say i'm pretty happy with it. pretty good in anything semi-clean with some size, and in the right conditions the thing just really surges into waves.
While costco is a great idea, I don't know if I can afford a membership AND a sweet wavestorm. I am very familiar with Austin surfboards, but everything I have seen that he's shaped has been either longboards, and a couple of oversized fish and one minisimmons (which I use the term loosely as it was over 6'5"). Does he make a decent shortboard? I'm looking for something similar to a dumpster diver-esque board, and I have never seen austin shape anything like that. I'll be the first to admit that just cause I aint seen it doesn't mean he doesn't do it. Also, a friend mentioned Frierson...anyone know if he can shape a decent shortboard?
Pm me if you would like to meet and work with a shaper. Better yet, see me at the north side of pier in at 7 am today. We can discuss this further.
Frierson or Austin if you want to stay in VB Busbey if you don't mind a drive. Mike Rowe is another shaper close by

Late thanks to all of you who offered advice. Ended up going in to Austin's shop to see what's up and two visits and four hours later have a dumpster-diver-esque shortboard on the way.
