I think a worldwide ban on religion should be in effect.

We "saved them from the Nazis", but they "saved us" from the British. They're a rude people for sure but Paris is a great city and the French coast, Alps, and overall countryside is awesome. They have a very similar geography to us folks (mountains, two coasts, creepy desert parts, farm country, etc.). Its a great place. Nobody deserves this. We live in a pluralistic society where we tolerate a multitude of ideas and belief systems. However, it is intolerance and when an ideal or belief system threatens the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness, that it needs to be examined and dealt with. Not all religions are forcing their beliefs on others. The ones that do need to be called into question.

We need to be more discerning, vigilant, and diligent.

The Middle East has always been in a state of conflict. I don't think any decision in the past would have made the place Disneyland.
