That was me and no, I don't think 300k more visitors are viewing the site because of this.

I think that's because either the actual reason for the site, surf forecasting, is continuing to gain a good reputation over say MSW and also because August and September are times when a lot of people want to go into the ocean because the water is at its warmest and there's 'cane swell.
