****But is everyone ready for the truly monumental showdown to come?? Raising the Minimum Wage. Or as I like to call it, "putting even more people out of work..."...The floor is open gentlemen (and hopefully ladies) to discuss this further. Extra points if you use any one of these buzz words "The Fed" "ZIRP" 'inflation" "monetary policy" "Reichstag" or "Zimmerman"
    good luck! ****

you don't think McDumpsters or Wallymart can afford to give a living wage? the golden tombstones brought in 27 billion. A manager makes 8.25 and the ceo 8.75 million.

of course all things are possible.it's not about what I think..but how do you control prices escalating thereby making any increase in wage obsolete?

Inflation is baked into our economic cake bc of a 40 or so year trend in money printing... This is the real reason why wages are stagnant.

"What cost $1 in 1960 would cost $7.65 in 2012.

Also, if you were to buy exactly the same products in 2012 and 1960,
they would cost you $1 and $0.13 respectively. " http://www.westegg.com/inflation/

you think they will give up parts of their salaries? or find ways to automate and remove jobs and save more money to put in their fat cat wallets...

sorry not ONLY reason they are stagnant but the major reason... again like the ACA you can have a temporary "feel good" measure to buy some votes and to create some temporary fix but we have inflation, it's a fact... and that takes away the purchasing power of our money. People don't really understand that so they'd rather tackle a part of the problem and not go after the source. The Fed. Printing money.

the whole idea that anything is going to change, with the current political infrastructure intact, is ludicrous.
Look what happened when Jesse Ventura decided to be a politician and tried to make changes, they ran him out.
Their agenda is simple: Keep us all sheeps, so they can line their pockets with mula.
The only thing that will change what is happening is a revolution by the people...and that won't happen, because they keep us divided with this big sh!tshow.

+1. Until we all stop fighting each other, unite, and get rid of the democratic and republican parties we're screwed. And I mean all of them. Local, state, federal. Destroy the machine that's killing us. Until that happens nothing will change, they are all part of the same machine.

Before the Bush tax cuts, we were thriving.

add that to 2 wars paid with a credit card, Using private military contractors to do jobs our grunts did for 10 times the pay, and Billions of cash lost in Iraq.

Voluntarily change? No. The sh*t is going to hit the fan sooner rather than later. The scary part is what "they" think is going to be an acceptable way to handle the population at that time. There is a reason "they" hoarded as much gold as possible over the years among other things.
    Great input surfers.

It's subterfuge I tells ya! slight o hand. look over here whilst this comes from there. Anyone keeping up with all the quakes, volcanoes, sink holes, and pestilence going on in this world? there's plague in 'Merka, poisonous brazillian tree spiders in England, snow in saudi desert.
