gulf temps for us are very dependent on the weather patterns along the bama coastline through to TX as the gulf stream brings all that water right to our doorstep. temps most likely wont drop a whole lot from what they are now, but that is really dependent on what part of GCF your on. SWFL will most likely have about 65-70^ temps, my mother lives down there and she said the water yesterday was 62^.

    clearwater's h2o got down into the low 50's/high 40's

    no problem
I should make a correction though, my comment "temps most likely wont drop a whole lot" was bassackwards, it should have read "temps most likely wont raise a whole lot"
temps at or near bradenton are indeed in the low 50's still, I dont really see that changing much now that another front is heading in.
the best way to gauge if the gulf temps will start rising is keep an eye on the temps in AL/LA and what the cloud cover is in that area. if there isnt a lot of cloud it could allow the sun to warm the water pretty decently, even if the air is cold, of course, the best scenario would be warmer air with a lot of sun, then we would see a pretty dramatic increase in gulf temps within a couple of days.

there should be a good sized bump on a heavy south facing beach by the end of the day, the wind is literally screaming out of the S-SE, tomorrow should have a W-NSW chunky munky VaS bump coming in, and monday should see the typical NW swell that could be pretty fun and clean if the wind lets up by then, of course, if the winds let up too soon monday could be barely shin :(

i hit longboat today and did alot of walking untill i found a nice waist wave with enough power and form in it....then some fish came in, (like dinner for bigger fish) and i saw some bigger dark swimming things so i went to couqina and seshed for 2 hours on waist stuff.
it cleaned up a little at 5:00 pm. and now back home feelim great

i checked it around 330 in sarasota county and it was flat. pretty big let down especially when it was suppose to be atleast waist+ but there isn't much south in the beaches i checked and i didn't feel like driving farther north. with this south hopefully the water warms up a bit.

    tomorrow should be fun

I got in yesterday, and tested the waters today (no point in paddling out today - too blown out - just testing water temps). My guess is water temps were about 61-63. (Destin/jetty east).

I was surprised at how calm the winds were early today, and thought about hitting it, but my son was invited to a bday party and I never saw anything on the cams that would let me feel it was worth it. so I bailed on today in the hopes tomorrow would be good. and of course, while playing with the kids at the bday party I stepped in a hole and twisted my ankle pretty darn good...
    my luck = usually pisspoor...

of course, if it is going off like predicted, I'll just wrap my ankle up in duct tape :D
