sh!t happens in the water, learn to wash off the anger, and stop bringing the hate back to the forums.

plus it looks like you could of dodged the kid, instead you kamikazed into him. ( prob trying to teach him lesson ) if the kid was persistently dropping in on you then i would agree with you, but you say he left after that, could of been an accident, take it easy next time.

would you have done the same thing to a chick? an old dude? a dude (or a chick) who was a lot bigger than you? if yes, then rock on. if no, you're just a bully who picks on groms...

The diving tackle was a bit ridiculous , you could of just kept cruising right around him,,,but hey ,whatever your trip is ,that's cool. I surf to relieve stress not to add to it.... If I had to review footage and present it to a panel of my "peers" to feel justified , then I'd consider that a wasted session .

How'd u come to that conclusion? The kid deliberately dropped in and there was an event that followed with no fight.

I would have been pissed. You handled yourself well. You made the right decision. You can't whoop his ass, but you can exact revenge by crapping in his beach or putting a lock on his bike. Get creative and stay out of jail.

I used the word "Potential" ,,,

He was guilty of a "surfing etiquette violation " , you went to the next level by "taking him down" hope it was worth it.
If he went in and told the cops some old dude assaulted him in the water (which is what you did ) , do you think " He dropped in on me " Is going to fly ? ... no...

" In that instant I decide to chop is legs out and I told him if he wants to drop in on people to go to another beach (which is known for lawlesslness)....
This little **** as he's paddling back out tells me to go f off!!! lol. I mean part of me laughed but part of me wanted to kick his spaghetti armed ass into beach... which I would have been arrested for."

I can't believe i actually read all this and watch your go pro youtube videos. sad really. middle aged guy posting about some kid dropping in on you and your fun shape on a tiny left. you don't sound tough, that kid will probably never read your post, and i doubt you would be teaching anyone etiquette - it is obvious that you are a below average skilled surfer. i feel pathetic that i took the time to watch those and respond to this buy you really need to hear it man. you are a loser. -dan kennedy

"that kid cut you off because he was like "look at this kook on a log with a go-pro when it's like 2ft, he won't make the drop, if he does, he won't make a turn. I should just go ahead and go"

i would agree with above statement.

that was really lame, and not even 2ft, more like barely knee high and you are freaking on a kid. Lucky his dad was not around and beat you down. And you are even more of a fool for posting the video showing your face while attacking a underage kid. This is not the 1984 anymore, when those things as quickly forgotten and not followed up on.

And by the way,...you were not dropped in on, not even close. It would have to be a real wave for that statement to be true. maybe you should stay out of the water for awhile and think about what you did.

No. That's not an etiquette violation. That's blatant disrespect... and a direct challenge. When that happens, in ANY context, you have a couple choices, and all have inherent risks and subsequent consequences. At that point, you make a decision, and commit to it.

Comparing this to, "if it was a chick?" or "if it was a guy bigger than you" makes no sense. The question was, did he do the right thing. In my mind, yea... he did. He didn't take it too far.. just far enough. I've seen WAAAAY worse.

SMACK? Really? I watched that video, very closely. That was pretty tame, if you ask me, and I'm not so sure that was a grom. Nobody got hurt... not even a ding.

    You're talking smack, brother...
