most likely you would not put on a uniform to defend the country, but your sure as crap will push a someone over a wave, or defend someone who does. So weak.
Xgen ur letting ur imagination get the best of you. This kid is 17 or so. And he and his buddies have been wrecking the lineup for over a year now.... The kid isn't 12 and doing his homework every night. LBcrew is spot on.
Do I condone "violence" against children? If this even needs to be said, then no... I don't. But then two questions need to be asked.. is that a kid? and is that violence? Read my posts. From that clip, that's not assault, and that's not a minor.
Xgen lbcrew is one of the better members on here very helpful in every post regarding shaping and general shapes. Seems to me all you do is talk ****... Mfitz you seem in the right..
Well of course anyone that agrees with you is "spot on". You never mentioned this kid had been "wrecking the lineup " for over a year. We only get your side of the story. It is obvious you went out of your way to hit him. I would've cruised around him and finished my ride... that's just me... you choose assault... cool. That's your thing, great. So I don't understand why are you asking us for validation or feel the need to show the video? It is assault,,, I don't know how old the "kid" is... I just think it's weird.
Let's say you reached down and grabbed his rail, and lifted him up and out the back of the wave. Is that assault?
In Jersey... That's not what happened here ,but you be the judge... New Jersey Simple Assault Law The law concerning simple assault in NJ is contained at N.J.S.A. 2C:12-1 and provides: a. Simple Assault. A person is guilty of assault if he: (1) Attempts to cause or purposely, knowingly, or recklessly causes bodily injury to another; or (2) negligently causes bodily injury to another with a deadly weapon; or (3) Attempts by physical menace to put another in fear of imminent serious bodily injury. Simple Assault is a disorderly persons offense unless committed in a flight or scuffle entered into by mutual consent, in which case it is a petty disorderly persons offense. The "rail grab" would be quite a stretch , but the "flying chop" video is pretty obvious . ...
Henny I'd say he could be charged with simple assault on me! He looked at me as I let him know I was on the wave and he decided to go throwing caution to the wind.
Perhaps, but thankfully everyone walked away and left the cops out of it. So the original question...Are you wrong ? You've already justified your actions on many levels. Why ask us ?
as much as I hate longboards, that looked like a very small/mushy longboard only wave to me. imo, shortboards shouldn't have even been out there, so he kinda deserved a reprimand of some sort for both shortboarding such a **** wave and dropping in on u. I heard you yell, but it looks like you could've also gone around him. Afterward, verbally reprimanded him while splashing water in his face might've done the same as a tackle...then, if he insisted on still f*king with you, move on to the next step
hey Mfitz73 i burn kooks like you all the time. i dont care if someone is having the best ride of their life..if i see a wave i want im on it regardless. and i wish some wimp like you would try to vibe me cause id put you in your place like i do all the others
I agree- this is the best way to get someone off the wave- micky dora style... plus no injury and they feel stupid for even trying to drop in... and your not physically hurting someone. I did this to a kelly slater stunt double a few weeks ago.... worked like a charm... Funny Video!!! lol happy you caught it on your gopro, i hope the kid sees it- hopefully he learned his lesson... mfitz- good move lol and its good no one got hurt... like everyone is raving about... in reality- IF YOUR GOING TO DROP IN ON SOMEONE- your HIGHER your own chances of getting hurt by colliding- thats one of the main reasons why you don't do it- your putting yourself and others at danger. Specially like this- when its not an accidental drop in. If you don't understand that, you will learn the hard way- one time youll drop in on someone and end up with a skeg down the back of your leg...
Doesn't pay to get upset over a 2' wave, if the kid keeps doing it well that's another kettel of fish. And it's never a good idea to film it just in case the cops get involved, that way it's just a case of he said grom said. So yes you were wrong.
Assault? Please, folks. I can't believe people are using that word. I'm dumbfounded. All the people arguing that he somehow could have hurt the kid, but I saw the move as one that actually could have prevented one of them from getting hit with a board and injured. The thing that clinched it for me is that he clearly was calling the kid off the wave.
