I have a 3/2 and a spring suit, some surgical gloves, and flipper socks. If I put everything on and go over the seams with vasoline, should I be ok to surf this weekend? Thanks.
might need to pick up a hood though... On a serious note, my neighbor doesn't have a 5 or 6 mil but has a 4/3 and has a hood with like 1/2 mil. I told him he could probly last like an hour if he has 7 mil boots and 5 mil gloves but he doesn't believe me. I'm in monmouth county btw.
do surgical gloves actually help keep you warmer? in another thread someone described a "bagging technique" whats that? just curious
Bag Tech. ( I think): Place glove/mitten on hand before top part of suit is thrown on. Place bag over top of glove/mitten throw glove and plastic baggy through the sleeve of wetsuit Peel out plastic bag - place in trash can! I used to do this when i first started but ive found simply rolling up the sleeves then rolling them back down works jsut as good, and no plastic...
dude, no your not going to be okay, but you an try and let us know. dont even bother with the vaseline.
FYI - the bag trick is for trying ON wetsuits. Like in a shop...I never heard of people doing it for their gloves though.....Usually, you put the bags on your feet to get the suit on. Can be a good idea if you are trying on a bunch of suits. Can get a little sweaty so it helps with your feet not sticking to the suit.
hahahaha........ dude, would you go rock climbing with two skinny frayed ropes and a half ass harness. This is not the year to be pulling shat like this. Maybe next year will be warmer and u can take your vaseline and go surfing
