Has anyone tried wearing a 4/3 or a 3/2 yet? I'm dying to get out of this winter suit but don't want being too cold and ruin my DP session Friday.
Put away the 5mm last week. Been going out in my 4/3 lately, with no hood on the small days. Might still need the squid cap on bigger or cooler days when you take a few more on the head. Friday AM should be cool, so plan on a hood.
i've been in my 4/3 since the beginning of march. gonna dig the 3/2 out later today & see about a surf. thinking i'm done w/ the 5mil boots & 3mil gloves for the duration, too.
I went out in my 3/2 monday morning in VA Beach. Perfectly warm glassy waist high. Air was around 80 though. Im planning on the 4/3 friday morning.
beat up 3/2, 3mm booties, 3.mm gloves this morning. Tried w/o gloves at first but hands got cold. Tiny but clean waves in south Delaware right in front of my dads house who was nice enough to grab the camera for a minute.
well, i was plenty comfy in my 3/2 w/ 3mil boots & 1.5mil gloves for about 2 hours. took a couple sets on the head & wished i had a squid lid, but that was the only time. after 2 hours, i ran out of warmth & fun, pretty much simultaneously. i'll keep the 4/3 out for those cooler days, but if the water gets much warmer, deff. won't need it. there were guys out w/out gloves today.
its a 6'2 Ashton bat tail quad. The waves were really weak but fun especially cause the who stretch of beach near my dads place hasnt been breaking for years and is now.
Nice, a bat tailed quad huh? How come I have never heard of that board in your quiver? Is it fishy shaped, and how thick is it?
Water Temps! I am still surfing in a 5-4-3. I dont care how hot it is outside when you duck in 43 degree water it is serious ice cream headache. Although this time of year is very decieving with water temps still low and air temp super high. I will be down to a 4-3 on friday. I hope we get some good ones!
Today Surfed for about 2 hours in the 4/3 today.Im going to wait a couple more weeks for the 3/2.My buddy had on a 3/2 and he was fine .He was hoodless but after reading about surfers ear im waiting a couple more weeks on that as well.Saw one dude without the gloves today.
For what it's worth... New to the forums and a complete novice but been lurking here for a long time. I was out in Monmouth county today from 4:30 till 5:45ish in a 4/3 hyperflexx flow with 3 mil gloves and 5 mil socks with no hood. It was very comfortable and I didn't feel at all cold. Admittedly though I have a good amount of natural insulation. If I can get out Friday after work I'll probably bring a hood. ~Rez
i've been in a 4/3 all winter in ocmd with 3mm gloves and 5mm boots i finally dropped the hood today and i was totally fine.
