Haven't hit the water in about a month and I feel like my hooded 5/4 is going to be way over kill.

I dont own a 4/3 should I or is anyone rocking the 3/2 yet?

I actually go surfing when I paddle out so I'm not worried about having to move around alot to stay warm.

Its also going to be close to 90 today.

    And I know i need a 4/3 !!!

hooded 5/4 is gonna be way overkill

I was just wearing a 3/2 with 3mm boots in 57 water/70 air and I felt nice and warm. I might not have even needed the boots.

I wore a 3/2 with 3mm boots and gloves on saturday in the cold air and fog with 56 degree water. I was toasty.

I went out with a 4/3 in jersey and I was toasty.. But not overly warm. I think if you have a warm/new/sealed 3/2, that would be appropriate.

Used a 1mil top and 1 mil bottom at Assateague on Sunday and was not cold at all... Believe I could have gone with shorts and rash shirt and would have been comfortable...Water today is about 64 degrees.
Wet suits are about to be put away!!

Similar situation here in NY... crazy three weeks straight of work and I haven't surfed in a month. Got out today. Water 55, air moving from 60's to 90.

My choices were a 6/5/4 and a tattered rag of a Hyperflex '4/3'.

Went with the dilapidated '4/3' and well-worn 5mm boots/gloves. I was fine for an hour as long as I kept moving around. Eventually I got cold, especially during the early morning sesh, before the sun burned the fog off.

If your suit is well sealed, a 3/2 is definitely adequate. I saw quite a few dudes without boots/gloves today

I saw a pic of bryan zinski in a tube in a springsuit from yesterday.a springsuit.an old 4/3 is plenty,a brand new 3/2 would work fine, but a springsuit,I don't wear a springsuit til October.il rock my 8 yr old 3/2 from june to mid july.august is nice and toasty, anything under 70 degrees and I need rubber.im surprised how long my 3/2 lasted,I seriously do not take any care of it and it still works.sits in a bag in my trunk all winter long year after year.i do rinse it tho when I get out the water.

    Spring suite

    Crazy

Yesterday after work I actually saw a guy in Belmar crossing ocean ave in a spring suite...

I proceeded to go home- pull in my 4/3 while having second thoughts of a 3/2... Then paddled out with gloves and booties. Was relieved when I saw guys out in their 3/2 and no gloves - shivering with hands in arm pits...
    I was toasty

I always err on the side of warmth vs. perceived as being a tough guy. I enjoy being warm and uncool than cold and cool when I'm surfing. You'll be evaluated by the lineup on your surfing abilities, not how tough you are at enduring cold water.
