my maroon 84 Dodge Aries with the bench seats (as opposed to bucket) and AM radio (only) was the sheeeeet. it had original style aloha racks on it and a huge trunk. thing was sick...so sick. the entire interior was maroon vinyl, so you just hopped in the car soaking wet, no problems. just towel things off when you got home. i think i need to find a piece of s h i t surf/commuter car. has anyone else taken that approach?
i love that stuff and most people that say that dont even own jeeps. hey man they can say what they say that v6 is weak sauce do they even put hemis in jeep jks?
Just bought an 04 Nissan Pathfinder as a daily driver and beach cruiser. Now I need to sell the expensive STI.
Stopped using my 4wd. pickup 6 years ago. 1998 Toyota Corolla for last 6 years. 270 K miles, nasty flaking white paint job, looks like its owner would have nothing of value. longboard will fit inside, or shortboards with passengers. 35 mpg.
Had the same type of vehicle...'98 honda accord...was a great car till the transmission gave out. Paint was flaking off as well...only problem was the car was black and had leather seats...never left a board in it I cared about in the summer... Have a FIT now...love it. Great commuter car and can pretty much fit any board I own inside of it. Hear the new FITs will hold a 9' LB....
I got hooked on Hondas because the Accords would run and run and run, only ever needing basic maintenance. Weak link for me has been the auto-transmissions. My '94 and '00 both started slipping around 190k. The ones my wife and I now have are both manual transmission, so we'll see how far we can push these. Basic boring cars, but very comfortable and functional, and they need an incredibly minor amount of maintenance to run up to 200k miles.
Lol, got my son an accord for his first car. Got it home and it was leaking anti-freeze. When I went to refill it the radiator was full of oil. cracked block. according to the dealer this is very common in mid-2000s accords.
