Yeah, the E38. Cool ride, but sometimes a pain in the arse. I've learned that German cars really hate aftermarket parts, stock OEM is pretty much the only way to keep these things (Porsche included) on the road. Haynes is *meh*, only to be used if you know your way around a car. I highly recommend the original workshop manuals, or a Bentley manual in a pinch. Haynes tends to get things wrong, or skip a step or two in certain procedures. Looking at some pedophile vans, I'm needing something to change in-n-out of my wetsuite for the upcoming PNW winter. Maybe Wayne will chime in.
Yeah, I always thought Bentley was best for Bavarian and Haynes was adequate for domestics. Bentley seems harder to find these days, at least in stores. Heard that on the OEM. Depending on model, you can find a lot of these parts on forums and from enthusiasts. Trust issue is very good that route too.
Yep, that is one pretty sweet 'Burb, Spongegnar. Emass bruh, you seem to have a pretty broad knowledge base about many things. You are progressing quite well, my young neophyte. Kinda kicking myself for selling the Bronco, but the gas mileage was killing me. I ain't made of $$$, ya know.
--Soft top --Major components are mostly bulletproof --Stuff that does break is easily worked on (except f&^king heater cores) --Highly customizable
The only time my jeep failed me was on the road commuting to and from work. Once I rebuilt the transmission it never showed any signs of problem. Spent weeks in the backcountry off road only.
This is the one and only vehicle I have ever owned. Pops bought it used in 2005 since then shes been through hell and back. Blew my motor on hwy 12 while passing a group of cars (hillarious), Pulled an excursion full of people from Massachusetts off the beach at Billy Mitchel Rd... they said "well it drives fine in the snow!?", wrecked it on a bridge, got caught by the police fornicating, and ive got her stuck in a thousand places i swore that truck would never come out of. At the end of the day, shes my baby and ill never let her go. Every bit of work i have done my self, swapped in a new motor when i blew the old one at 150k, replaced flex plate, hubs, u-joints, radiator, water pump, steering box & pump, 3" lift kit, new head liner... the works. With all of the sweat equity invested at this point, and literally no value to anybody but myself, I will continue to fix her until shes unable to be fixed.
