Did anyone see that Walking on Water surf movie with the creepy surfer who was looking for 12 year old boys to take on a surf trip around the world? Supposedly, he wanted to return the favor that someone did for him. But at least the guy who helped him out already knew him and was a friend. This guy had to have a bunch of 12 year old boys audition. Those kids just gave the wink and nod to the JESUS crap and got a free surf trip around the world while their "host' got his narcissistic ego all pumped up and felt like he was "special" because he's one of JESUS'S boyzzzz. I thought the title was more of a pun and didn't know it was a religious flick. It really turned me off to Tom Curren. I used to be a fan until I heard him spout the JESUS crap!

that was cj hobgood,and he had luke davis and some other kid.luke is one of the top groms nowadays,cj did him good.obviously u don't know shyt about surfing if u live on the eastcoast and don't know who the hobgoods are.i wouldn't compare cj to wayne,cj doesn't give jesus rants at every contest.

and tom curren is the original god of surfing.kelly is Kelly because of tom curren mentoring him on his younger years and letting him stay with him in france in the early 90s.again wouldn't put him in the same class as wayne.wayne is the tim tebow of the surf forum,and tebow is a collosal douche

 

theres plenty of excellent surfers who are religious.now I feel like im taking waynes side but im not.look at the obx crew,it is a strict Christian town.noah Snyder,jesse hines,brett barley to name a few.its common sense they needed a god or something to believe in when ur getting sponsor checks at 13 and drinking,doing drugs,banging chicks,they got burnt out and turned to god.most people don't experience that lifestyle at all so......I don't discredit legends for their make beliefs

Surfing and Jesus is really all about the money, that is, economics. The poorer the area (like NC) the more churchy the people. When I was a ski bum you never met "skiers for jesus". The only jesus freaks on skis were the former (and extremely obnoxious) coke heads. But I only knew of one of them, not a whole group. Go figure............
